is water bad for a savage cause i ran mine through some the other day doing fish tails but jw

Make sure the electics don't get wet. And wipe everything down to avoid rust.

now, I'm not saying to get ur electronics wet but, i have made electronics water-resistant and then having them overheat so i run normal servos without protection. I have littterlay sunken them underwater and they still work fine! just make sure u dont drive SLOW into water. Make sure ur flying. However, I'm an idiot with the always broken savage so beware of my judjgement :stick:

Heck I use a garden hose and a deep sink to clean my Savage and T-Maxx.

Water is only bad if it gets to the electronics and is allowed to sit on the truck for great lengths of time. You should also try and avoid getting water in the engine, but it happens.

If water gets in places it shouldn't like the electronics and the engine, then you should take care of it right away.

For the electronics, turn them off to avoid shorting them out. Dry them out really well before applying power. You could let them air dry for a while, but you would be better off opening up the cases and getting as much excess water out of them before you do. Electronics can and will rust. When they do rust they cease to function as well as they did before.

For the engine, you could flood the engine with nito fuel or oil to displace the water, but you still may get some rust internal. Your best bet is to break the engine down and dry the internals, applying oil where needed to prevent rust. I usually shake out the water and then run a tank of fuel through the engine. Not the best practice, but it works.

So is water bad for your MT? Only if it is left to sit. Run it, have fun with it, but always take care of it.

I have ran my buggy on-road in the rain though puddles and the car was completely dripping wet exccept the radio box and it was fine. I have also hydro planed my buggy with sand paddles untill my engine bogged and I was then mug bogging in 6 inches of water and I was supprised that the buggy didn't sink. No problems at all. I would hydroplane my buggy over a pool if I had the chance.

Yea water isnt bad unless you drive it into a swimming pool, just keep your electronics dry, and mist the undercarage down and screws and such with some wd-40 at the end of the day. Just to prevent rust in the near future.

lol hydro planing is cool i want to see a vid if you do it

I clean my Savage with a mixture of hot water and dish washing detergent in a spray bottle and rinse it off with warm water , let it dry in the sun then spray the metal parts with wd40. The detergent works better than any notro blast i've tried.

I ran in the water and mud once and now avoid it whenever possible. Besides the real mess it was to clean up, water got into the tire foams. The wet foams really screwed up the tire balance and the whole truck shook all over the place after that. It took quite a while for the foams to dry out some. Actually, I replaced the wheels about three weeks later and the foams were still wet.
I just thought I'd mention this so you are aware that water will enter the tires unless they are sealed at the bead and the vent holes closed up.

i broke my savage in in the rain ... POORING rain ... never had any problems. ... the one tiny thing that happened was the water cooled the engine so fast that it started to bog down and would sometimes flood and stall , but started right back up (i did that after break in)
