I'm looking into getting a motor for a t maxx I'm building, I seen a complete trx 3.3 on ebay for $169.00 free shipping. It has everything from the motor down to the mounting screws and pipe, is this a good deal? I've looked at the picco and the o.s motors but to get a complete motor for either one is well over 300 or is there a better deal? any help from you guys would help thanks

I have seen them 3.3's sometimes go as low as 80 bucks! just make sure they are new and unused!!! what is wrong with the old engine??

I got one new in box with air filter, one way bearing, and pull start for $90 on ebay.

Traxxas 3.3 engine.

Wait for the right deal.

nothing is wrong with the engine i have now i just have another t maxx that is a roller with no motor. see knall thats what I'm looking for but id have to buy a carb motor mounts pipe clutch flywheel would it still be cheaper buying it all seperate

I would go ahead and get it. By the time you buy one of the cheaper ones and get the back plate, filter, pipe etc etc your going to pay that much or more anyways. I know there isn't a lot of 3.3 fans on this site but I have one and I'm happy with it. It makes for a powerfull enough motor to bash the way you want to and it's pretty quick on top speed also. Is it the biggest, baddest and fastest? No, but it's a decent enough motor to have a lot of fun with. I will say though take the time to break it down and seal it. You won't regret it. And break it in properly. And I always after run oil mine. ALWAYS. Do that also and you will get every bit of life out of it you can get.

.

see i want a motor but i dont want to break the bank there is other stuff i need to buy, so i think ill stick with the 3.3. i want to get a better steering servo and hump battery pack and that will cost me $ right there. the only thing i dont like on the traxxas motors is the carb sometimes is hard to tune but the price is right, for an o.s motor or ofna id be looking at over 200 for a bare engine ya no

Yeah but if you seal the motor and carb (there's a thread on here about it) then they actually do pretty well. Like I said I haven't had any issues with mine and I don't baby it. Just make sure everything is set up properly and you'll be happy with that motor.

I've seen some OFNA force .28 and a few .32 for around 100 with carb, clutch, filter and pull start.

i just got done reading it, I'm going to pick it up the 3.3, my 2.5 is getting old on my other t maxx I'm going to tear it down and check it out but I've put 6 gallons threw it and it still runs and starts easy i

I have this for sale aswell http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280721610745&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
It's nearly new, has very little run time on it and is a topper of an engine. No leak in the bearings or anywhere because I sealed it. Its been broken in using the heat cycle method aswell, which I believe is the best method for life and performance.
I have the mount for a tmaxx aswell but that's going separately unless you really really need it and make me a nice offer for them:)

Anything that was on your traxxas engine will fit directly onto either of the engines i have for sale as they are direct drop in replacements, the only thing that doesn't fit is the traxxas engine mount but the ones you get are a direct fit as in they fit in the holes for the standard engine mount.
I still have all the clutch and engine mount for the tmaxx, if you make a good offer or win the bidding ill send them to you, save you some hassle.
Just let me know if you're the guy from the rcnt forum on ebay if you win it and ill send the lot to you. ;)

okay I'm watching it right now ill see where its at in three days thanks for the help
