I am looking at a old TMaxx that has not been upgraded to the wide a-arms. It has a fial safe and rpm a-arms. It is pretty much stock past that. It has 2 of the stock motors that came in it. One might run and one has a broken rod. All electronics are there and all it needs is a motor. I can get it for $100. I thought that was a pretty good deal but not very experienced with a Maxx for I am a savage man. But can't pass up a good deal. Pleas let me know what you think.

Thanks
Matt

seems like a good deal to me any nitro for $100 is a good one fail safe is the national standard in any car or truck. I'm not to familiar with mt's as an all but wider arm would seem to help cornering so that you dont roll as easy. if one engine might run you figure if it does it will have some time to save up for one. a rod shouldnt cost too much.

You said TMaxx, but you also said 2 motors. Is this nitro or is it the electric twin motor EMaxx?

I don't remember the last time an electric had a con-rod... :smoke:

If everything else seems ok, the $100 isn't bad. But if the diffs are shot, the trans is shot and the engine is shot, the shocks are shot, then I don't know. But, if all that crap is ok and you just need an engine, then it's not a bad price.

You can either get 2.5 arms/sliders/turnbuckles or get RPM widemaxx rims to make up the width differance as well.

It's a condensation rod. Every electric motor has one. It draws the moisture away from the armature on humid days.

Okay, olds...yeah, I feel stupid. I missed that the first time I read the post.

Just giving you a hard time.

Condensation rod... You make that up? I don't remember dealing with that in college. Although, we didn't look at motors to much, just circuit boards and software.

Of course I made it up. It's fun being a smart ass. It just took me a minute to figure out a ridiculous explanation for con rod. If it made you wonder, then it made me chuckle. :stick:

I was just trying to make you feel better... condensation rod... I think my car is low on blinker fluid!

What's so odd about that? My blonde girlfriend gets her blinker fluid filled up for only $2 with every gas fill up. For $2 more, they also rotate her muffler bearings.

Thanks for all of the replys. I have drove the truck before the guy broke the conn. rod in the engine. Everything is great and works fine. The engine with the rod broke was broke in by me but the guy tried to tune and I think he flooded it really bad and kept using the e-z-start. The engine only had about 8 tanks through it. Again thanks for the information

We got a little derailed, but I was gonna' say that since you already have a nitro car, you know what to look for with a used one. A hundred bucks is a great deal, I think. The EZ start problem is a defect in the board, not something you did wrong.
