i threw a rod in my 3.3 so i was wondering if there was a better motor you could upgrade to and what it would take to convert everything to work if i had to.
 
If you can find them... the OS 18TM, but it requires a header for your truck that is specific to the truck (revo/maxx).

I don't know if it's really any better, but it's right on par for power and RPM's with the 3.3. The thing that makes it "better" in my book is the fact that OS is stamped on the side.

I really liked the 18TM I had in my revo. Great little engine. It's now my jato's summer engine...

OS has replaced that engine in their lineup with a 21TM for more than twice the price... Just a horrible thing to do IMHO. That little 18 was great for most. I'm sure the 21 is a good engine... but $300 for a basher engine in a truck that only needs a decent 18 to be fun is overkill.

No the 3.3 rules all, especially with their trade in program. Just send in your old motor and they send you a brand new one for $170 I think.
 
A 3.3 is a good engine, but its not the best. Id look around for a OS.18tm like olds said. I have one and swear by it. Traxxas motors are finiky F-ers at times, and I never have had a problem with my os. You could spring for the Picco .26 maxx, which is like 190 pluse the ofna mount. I hear its a good mill.

:yes: I have one and it is indeed a good mill. Never any problems for lack of power for sure lol.

Ask at your LHS when you buy the engine though. I bought mine and asked for the mount. The guy gave it to me for free.
 
picco .26 is a good engine, my brother in law got one in is revo and WOW that thing flies, plus i love that screaming sound...AWW YAA!!! LOL...but mine sounds better :naughty:

BB picco.21 it is crazy fast , and the p2 is a short shaft BB that fits right in. Its not the easyirst to tune but when you got it you no. It will out perform a 33.3 any day.
 
the OS 18 tm is a really nice engine. It's supposed to be comparable to the 3.3 but I hear it's got better bottom end. You can still find them. I called rccarkings.net and they had the os18tm for 149 and the os21tm for 249. There is occasionally an EB Mods OS18tm on ebay. I almost got one that an individual was selling for 100 bucks that was still sealed in the box, but when I decided to get it and went back an hour later someone else had snatched it up. If I were you, I would get an OS18tm engine while they are still available, or get an os 21 tm and upgrade your tranny and drivetrain.
 
the replacment program is a ripp off for 110 bucks you can get a brand new os or something and throw a piston/sleve in the trx if you wanna
