HI

My savage is waiting for an engine and i have thought about getting a sirio.27
But before i spend 400$ of my hard earned cash on 400 grams of metal, i would like to know if any of you out there could supply me with some info..
Is it easy to tune and does it hold it well? Any reliability issues?
I will also (i guess) have to get some CVD'S to handle all that power, any recommandations??

Any help will as always be greatly appriciated

The Sirio 27 is freakin scarry. El Pirata has a non-pullstart one in a buggy and it's insane. It was very easy to breakin, ran reliably and has mad power. My only gripe about that engine is the lack of midrange. The throttle curve goes from idle to WOT pretty quick. We tried programming the radio so that there was a ton of expo on the throttle, and it helped a bit, but I've heard that that mill is like that. In my opinion and experience, an Ofna Picco 26 or the Orion Wasp 26 (same engine really) is more than enough for a Savage. I'm running the Ofna 26 in mine with one of the head shims taken out, 49t spur and a 15t bell and it's fast, and has crazy power. Also that mill is half the price of the Sirio. The one thing the Sirio 27 does have that the Ofna and Orion mills don't is higher RPM. My Picco tops out at 30K, the Sirio I would lay money on topping out at over 40K. IMO, the Sirio is mad overkill on just about any vehicle.

If you're running the black bones, change up to either silver HD bones, or CVDs all the way round, center too.

It's worth the money if you want that kind of power. I have the 27pro version and each time that I take it out to play it keeps getting quicker. I've owned both, the 26 seemed to have a tad more grunt off of the line but the 27 pased it on the straights. You will not go wrong either way that you decide to go.

Thanks for the info...but

HI
well, maybe the sirio is a bit on the wild side, as error401 said..
so i proberly will go for a picco or wasp.
The only thing that has me a bit concerned is that there seems to be quite a few guys that has somekind of trouble with them..
Are they more difficult to tune than other mills? or what?
I'm not a complete idiot in regard to tuning a mill ( i used to drive 1/8 on-road in my younger days), but if i buy one of them, can i expect to pull out my remaining hair in fustration or will it be a pice of cake??
And finaly which of those two mills do you guys recommend??

Sorry for all the questions.
As allways any info will be greatly appriciated

It's a mean ass mid-range and mostly top end engine like most Sirio engines ime...it's ported and designed for raw top end power. If your looking for mean ass low and mid-range I'd definitley look @ The Picco/Wasp .26 that's totally kick ass and especially for the price.
