is the .26 picco a good choice

Mine in my 2.5 Maxx after a half gallon and break-in is still holding up fine. All depends on how you drive it. A wheelie bar is a good investment....

Great motor, easy to tune, tons of torque and nice top end.

I have the standard .26 Maxx not the red dot and it makes real good power. It was a bit picky with the exhaust at first then I swapped over to a THS and it runs great with it. I would recomend it if you are looking for more power. However, I would go forward only and upgrade your driveshafts if you have a 2.5 T-Maxx.

From what I hear the 3.3 can take quite a bit more power than the old 2.5 could. If you are going to upgrade to that mill I wouldn't get ahead of yourself and start upgrading without seeing what is really necessary. I would however certainly upgrade to the FOC (forward only conversion) as it really helps with reliability and smoothes out clutch engagement tremendously. I would do that whether you upgrade your mill or not. Reverse is overated anyways.

You should be GTG.....when something breaks...fix it. I would rather do that then to go through and pointlessly replacing parts. Well except for aluminum bulkheads. They prevent other stuff from getting broke. The bulks are the weakest link in a Maxx IMO.

Picco is a mid block engine which gives more power and has longer life,it will get you to higher speeds as well because they have similar RPM's as 3.3 but they have way more power to move the truck,if you get the gearing perfectly matched with your style and engine then it could even go up to 60mph (I seen Revo with picco P2 hitting 65mph next to model shop)
it will give you more torque for off road and higher speeds but also longer life and better for every day user.
