When I run my maxx 2.5 motor through the cycle I don't feel any resistence as the piston reaches tdc. Is my motor shot, is there anything I can do for it besides a rebuild, and is the 2.5 really worth the rebuild?

If the glow plug is still in,it's shot. I'd look for a different engine rather than rebuild a 2.5.
If there isn't any major damage,the sleeve can be repinched.

With the plug in the is a slight bit of resistence but not much. How do I repinch the sleve?

Is the speed tuned 21VZ-B V spec II world edition by OS a good replacment motor, also will it fit in the maxx properly?

If the internals are all good (bearings are good, con-rod has no slop, piston isn't chipped at the edges, sleeve has no gouges), you can get repinched as suggested.

V Spec is a great engine, but it wont fit in a tmaxx since its a bump start engine, you can't get a pull/rotostart on it

Idk if you want to stick with Traxxas engines, but the power upgrade is only 125 dollars for a brand new 3.3

I'm not sure if I wanna stick with traxxas or not. My maxx is really just the yard basher that I let friends drive. Most the time their rookies and end up giving me 20 bucks to fix what they broke. Ill look into the traxxas 3.3 tho.
