well i was just wondering if it would be ok to switch fuels. right now i am running traxxas 20% top fuel and I've been hearing alot of good stuff about blue thunder and i want to switch to that.so i was just wondering if it would harm my engine or anything else.

Its OK to switch but it might make you have to adjust your carb. Just make sure you use good fuel. On %, if you run 20%, make sure you dont go any lower then 20%. If you want you can run higher like 30% but you still might have to adjust your carb or even maybe shim your head.

Hey,

Gutterboy is spot on. Traxxas top fuel works great with Traxxas engines. I've run it in other mills with less then stellar results. I honeslty think that Traxxas does formulate it specifically for their engines and nothing else.lol. I'm assuming you have the Trx 2.5 in a maxx c'ing as this is the Maxx forum. Blue thunder is great time tested and proven fuel but IME you'll be better off with the TOp fuel for the 2.5. If you wanna try something different, Get yourself a quart of regular O'DOnnell 20% and c how you like that compared to Top Fuel.

Peace

Yea no need to worry. I am on my 4th different fuel with this engine. Not a problem.

I went from traxxas to Trinity Monster Horsepower to Blue Thunder then finally settled on the best IMHO O'Donnell fuel

Like the others said the worst you will have to do is tune.

Yep dude. I'm getting to the point where all I want to run is O'Donnell blends. I'd love to run O'Byrons but no LHS around here carries it and I'd rather not order 4 quarts for mucho denero or four gallons.

so I'm kinda stuck between o'donnel, top fuel, and blue thunder. which will give me the best all around performance.

LIke I said, If ya wanna try something different, I'd highly reco O'Donnel in the regular RTR formula in 20%. Blue THunder works great but IMO the O'Donnell is better overall.

Peace

Best advice given.

If they carry Blue Thunder, I recommend that fuel. I'm not going to say it is the best or better than anything out there. I will tell you that I have put over 10 gallons through several engines and have had no problems what-so-ever.

I have never ran Blue Thunder. I have used O Donnels in my OS 15CV, TRX .15 and Rossi R12 and had great results. I also ran some 30% but not sure what it was called in my OS and it did wonders. I recently got a free gallon of Top Fuel and I le my buddy run it in his TRX 2.5 and it totally ran like sh!t. Couldnt tune it to run any better, kept boggin and it sucked. We sucked the rest out of the tank, put O Donnels in it and retuned it back and it ran perfect. I agree with 30%NitroBoy, I think Traxxas Top Fuel works well only for Traxxas motors.

ok thanks u guys i will be going to my lhs and checking

question:
WILL THE TRAXXAS FULE WORK IN MY NEW SIRIO?
i never gave it much thought before this but i dont wana fuk up a 200$ engine that i worked hard to get:\

I once got yelled at by OQ because I mentioned that I used Blue Thunder LOL.... I put it's mullet all in a frenzy LOL

tam 13 I would try a quart of each type of fuel that your LHS carries and use whichever one works best in your opinion.

I would suggest that too. Just keep in mind, stick with the same percentage you're currently using. Mind you, not all fuels are the same ... some minor tuning might be needed.
