Hey guys,

I'm currently bidding on 2 6-cell SMC packs NiMH packs. Each pack is rated at 1.169V each, so that'll only like me about 7.014V a pack. Would this be sufficient enough to run? Should I go for a pack with at least about 1.2 volts? Please help me. Thanks!

-Coby

ya, i wouldnt do it, i would get some elite 1.2v 5000mah nimh cells and make my own pack, only 5 bucks a cell will make the best battery you can get for 30 bucks go for that.

I agree. Making batteries isn't to hard. Be patient, get a jig and a 60watt iron. If your afraid of messin' up, research the net and try to find a video of a pro doing it. Sometimes hobby shops will help ya too. Offer to sweep the sidewalks or some type of trade off for them to show you.

matt is totally right, plus if your really not sure allign the cells like this --- next to eachother so u only have to solder one bar and the connector plug ---

It's not making the pack that's hard for me, it's the right amount of voltage in each cell. I know not everything is perfect, but is 1.169V too little? It's only .031 volts under 1.2 =/.

I really couldn't be sure. I just got an 8 cell 4600. It shipped charged, and after sitting for another day, it was reading 11.5 volts. I've noticed all my packs have read close to 2 volts over there rating at full charge.

well you could buy it and look at my nimh revival thread and get it back to full voltage (general electric forum, first page
