my 3.3 has been really wierd to tune and it wont hold a tune and runs like crap when it gets warm. if i roll around at 1/4 throttle for a minute or so and nail it its fine. then it starts running like crap again. when startin my motor i was gettin hit with fuel and it was comin from behind the flywheel. new motor or just replace the bearing?

Time to replace Both bearings.;)

dang it! how hard is it to do? and dont i have to put the motor in the oven for a few minutes to make the aluminum expand to get the bearings out and back in?

You could maybe get away with a hair dryer, or a heat gun. Or look on ebay for a case with bearings already in it. Some people are parting out brand new rigs and making big money off it.

Yup, heating the case is the only way to do it right. The oven method works well but it's probably best to do it when the person that uses the oven the most isn't around ;)

Strip the engine to the bare case, heat the oven to around 300 degrees and pop the case in for about 10 minutes. Take it out with a towel or heavy glove and rap the back end ont a piece of wood, the back bearing will, or should, drop right out. Flip it around and hit the back of the case with the same piece of wood and the front bearing should drop out.

Put the new bearings in the freezer for a while before you heat the case, and once you've got the old bearings out, the cold ones should drop right in, just make sure they're seated all the way, let it cool, you're done.

I've used a MAP gas torch to warm the case before as well, but it's better to use an oven if you can and heat the entire case evenly.

HTH...
