Hello.
Got a Evo(RS4-3) and it seems that the primer seal is leaky (stock cell) and i also noticed that once the cell gets down to less than a qaurter tank the engine dies out. I heard that the primerless cell is the way to go anyway. And if so and i get one do i have to prime the system by putting my finger over the stinger and pull the cord 3 or 4 times?

A primerless fuel tank is better. It prevents leaks where the primer is, and it prevents self-leaning as the tank gets low. That is probably why your engine cuts out when you get under a 1/4 of a tank. And yes, in order to prime it you just cover the stinger and pull the cord until you see fuel enter the carb.

Yes the primerless are a lot better. No more leaks. If your dont want to put your finger over the exhaust you can always take off the pressure line and give it a quick blow.

You can convert your tank to primerless, you have to rip out the primer basically. Then, you can plug the hole w/ a fine machine screw slightly larger than the hole, and you can use some sealant like epoxy or something to completeltly eliminate any leaks. I did this to my hpi rush fuel tank, never had another problem since.

These tanks are different on these. I was going to do that to mine, but theres a cup in the bottom of the tank that the primer rod is sealed over. Your best off just spending the $11 and getting a promerless one. My Rs4 3 ran like crap until I dropped on in and had NO more problems. Talk to Bruce at RushRc on here. He got me mine for a good deal.

Mine had that too, and I still removed it....or maybe mine was different, prolly since the tank on the rs4 3 evo appears a little different.

i dont know why but that made me laugh!! lmao!!

i do the same thing on my nitro sport.. its so light i can't oull the rope without holding it down so i can't do the stinger thing..
