Invisibility cloak soon to be made!

Well, there is one major problem with a person being invisible, which ALL of the sci-fi shows and apparently real scientists have over looked.

This is one of the odd thoughts that my brain has thrown at me.

Think about exactly how an eye works. It refracts, and focuses incoming light rays onto a "screen of sorts", the retina, which means if you are invisible then that light which would allow you to see actually passes staight through your eye, unaltered, and hence, you would "see" no light at all, and would be by definition "blind".
How much good can being invisible be if you can't see?

Thats why my invisable girlfriend keeps walking into walls. I thought it was just because she was blonde!

If you are already stationary and waiting to spring an ambush, you just need to hear them coming. Great system if it will work as advertized, too bad the military never buys anything that works that way.

That can easily be overcome by the use of a pinhole-type cam and a monitor, or possibly a closed-circuit cam setup.

If you can't see directly, then indirectly should work just fine.

Very true.
Now, all the cloaking "device/material" needs is to be 100% insulated to heat, to avoid infrared detection, and then you'd have a very dangerous piece of equipment on your hands. Except of course, your observed temp would have to exactly match the next object/objects directly behind you in the line of sight from the observer with the infrared detector, or you'd stick out like a shadow in a spot light.

Heat absorbsion, which could easily be transferred to energy (gotta power it somehow), could overcome the heat signature problem. Or you could possibly "recycle" the heat to radiate out from other areas, to help 'blend' the heat signature.

A simple temperature sensor and heat emitter could work. Simply take a reading of the area around, and average it out, then radiate enough heat in the right areas. The only real problem would be the angle of observation. You'd have to make sure that the heat signature appears 'blended' from all directions. Not easy, I'm sure, but it's possible....

The only real problem is powering the whole thing. I'm sure a micro reactor could easily do the trick.

Okay, my head hurts, lol.

I am I the only one that found this funny
LMFAO andy...

is the cloak for real i heard bits and pieces on the news

I read a couple page's on this cloaking device idea, from what i read,Scientist cannot completelly cloak all colors, and that they have only figured out how to cloak "parts" of dust particles, chance's are a cloak device wouldn't be a major thing for another 10 year's,but cloaking a couple dust partical's is a huge thing.

they would be able to see in this case because the person inside the cloak isn't invisible they may not be able to see much if the can't see through the cloak from the inside though
