the first day that i have been able to get on rcnt for some reason my cable internet would not let me get to rcnt it would keep saying can not find server has anyone other them me had this trouble and is there and way to fix it so if it happens in the future

Depending on how heavy the cable traffic is in your area (Medina...as in Ohio?), your modem might be timing out in its tries to get the server. If this happens, you may very well get a "server unavailable" message.

Note, cable is not a direct connection in the fashion that you may think. You are actually sharing your bandwidth with all of your neighbors or at least everyone working off the same cable hub as you. So when everyone on that hub hits the net at the same time, your speed might actually drop to below that of dial up.

stang,

I'm not sure if your problem is related to this post or SkyMaxx's post - however it has been brought to my attention that the site has been acting very funny lately, in one way not responding. As a matter of fact even I'm having a hard time viewing the site, because of this I am looking into it at this very moment to hire a System Administrator to come, check out the server and fix any problems found. Hopefully all problems will be fixed in the next few days.

It almost sounds like all the DNS servers still dont have the new info.

How about a re-submission to the DNS servers? Can that be done?

The site has been very hit and miss for me too. Sounds like you aren't the only one having the problem my friend. It has been this way ever since the new server upgrade. I am sure woodie will get it all worked out. Weird thing for me though is that it only happens at home. When I log in at work there is no issues with it.

I'm working as fast as I can to get this problem fixed. Last night I hired a security admin to completely go through the server and setup anything I didn't know how to or of, he finished our server late last night.

As far as your comment newnitrofan - it's funny you say that as when I experience down time it's only at home, I goto work and it works just fine. Very odd - none the less I'm working on getting this fixed.

[ UPDATE: ] Just contacted the Network Center and they have told me I had a few settings incorrect in regards to the name servers, they have fixed them and hopefully this will correct all of our problems. Give it a few days just in case!

And I thought I was the only one. I have had no problems at home but when I am at work it has been a 50 - 50 chance. Glad to hear that it should be resolved.

Woodrow, I have found that to be funny all along. Most of the time I post from home anyways. I have been wondering if any network settings that I have at home has been messed up or anything. I have even re-set my router to default settings a couple of times just to try it and nothing really happened with it. Although again I have only been experiencing problems ever since the server upgrade. Of course there two different ISP's. One is Qwest at work and TDS at home. Both are ppoe and running through a router.
