Has anyone ever had problems with Integy shocks on the Savage having weak shafts?
I have already bent two shafts on my Integy's. I use 20w oil and the stock black springs from the .25
 
I'll wait for a response on this, too, since I'm thinking of getting the set of 8 piggy back shocks for the Maxx. $99 for all 8, prebuilt, only needing oil. They look good, but it seems cheap since I paid $40 a pair for Losi shocks, unassembled.
 
I know the integy's for the maxx (MSR4's) are pretty weak. Bomber has trashed 2 of his, one is completely toast. It was ripped in two pieces. The other had the shaft rip out of the shock body.

On the savage, I just did the new era upper arm and UE supermaxx shocks (4) combo. It came out to about $140 upgrade, but if they hold up as well as the ones on my maxx, they are worth every penny.

I was getting about 7-8 feet of air with it yesterday with hard flat landings (crappy place to play) and they held up great. Nice plush feel with 60weight oil. I run the same shocks on my hopped up sport maxx and really like the results. I ramp that thing all day long at top speed about 6 feet in the air. It's just so fun it's almost adicting! I've had the shocks on the little maxx for about 5 gallons worth of running. I just installed the set on the savage thursday, drove it yesterday for about an hour. So, I don't know how long they will hold up. But, I did have the ones on my little maxx on a 14lb 21 maxx for about 3 gallons of their 5 gallon life.

integy has two types of piggybacks for both the Maxx and Savage. MSR4 and MSR5. The 5's look a bit different but the only major difference is the shafts are a larger diameter. As for how they hold up... I'm not sure yet. My truck isn't running yet. if you decide to get Integy's might as well get the newer version. They do cost a little more though I think.
 
Well, I did not know they had two types for the Savage, MSR4 and MSR5.
Damn it.....that might explain more to me since I have the MSR4's which are probably the weaker ones.
