O.K i have the 25 so i did not build it. Therefor i dont know how to take it apart. I I'm looking for someone that has done this or built an ss. I took the top 2 screws out of the stock tower but can't acsess the bottom two. I looked at and relized i had to take the rear assembly off and separate the bulkheads. i cna not get the rear assembly off because its heald on by two prongs that go into the tvps. I have to take the tvps off from the way I'm doing it. Can someone walk me through how to do this?

I got it and their all installed. I lostened all the tvp screws and it came out. The only thing i do not like about these towers is i lost ride height:(. Although the ue shocks arew incredably easy to build and look really nice. With 60 wt oil and black springs you can barely squeez them and the rebound rate is slow. How should i fix the slow rebound rate or is this good?

thanks

If it seems too slow you could have not builtthem correctly, or change your oil wt. and springs. 60 may be too high. Are you running 4 or 8?

I wonder what you did? I run integy 65 weight with the two hole disks that come with the shocks and with the black springs, the rebound isn't that slow. It's not instant, but you don't want instant. The whole point of a shock is to control extension. Actually, I run black on the front and navy blue on the rear. I only run 4 shocks.

I run four. I buil them just the way the manual said. Although are you supposed to put an o-ring in side shock body. Not the 2 o-ring at the bottom but it looked as if the picture had a semi-large one in the shock body?
Could this be the problem?
I will take it out if no one replies by the end of the night.

I don't remember that step??? I didn't put on in. Is it under the disk on the shaft? If so, it's probably there to help protect against over extension and damaging the shock. I can't remember what it's called, but there's a term for it.

I don't use them...

dude dont use 65w shock oil use about 45 MAX! that works the best i use 35 in rear and 45 in front do not uise anymore then that and put 1 spacer on every shock.

thanks olds for informing him of that. I will take them out in a minute. I just got back from a motorcycle ride.

it did not help at all. When looking at a watch it takes them 3 secounds to rebound. Could i have put the piston in upside down. Also does the bubble part of the shock blaader face down or up?

I tore the shocks apart and started inspecting them. The shock pistons have 2 hole i could only see one. In the shock kit there are big black washers and little silver ones. You have to use the silver ones and not the black. Only one hole could allow oil to go through making the spring have to wqork extra hard to rebound the shock. No to rebuild them.

The black one is for the ball end screw when you bolt the shock to the truck... I think.

Your right, you want the little silver ones to go under the disk (or on top of it, I can't remember). The bladders should point down.

thats what i have now and they work perfect.

I blew out a few bladders, so I took them out... to much of a pain to keep messing with them. I fill the shock up so that it's brim full with the shaft pushed in, then I screw on the cap. After pumping the shock a few times, the oil mixes with the air. Seems to work good for me... I never really understood why the shock air and oil should be seperated anyway. My xxx-nt didn't have bladders and they were filled the same way and worked well.

what is the point of the bladders?
Do i have to fill them with shock oil?

Sorry i have never built shocks before.

Also the nova towers lean and are slanted when installed. All the screws are in as far as they will go. Antyone else with nova towers had this problem and how did you fix?

Don't have nova towers... but the bladders are there to keep the oil and air seperated. I think it's supposed to make the shock action more smooth.

Basically, you fill the shock body per the instructions. Fill it until the oil is about 3-4mm from the top of the shock. Put the bladder over the shock body hole so that the dome is pointing down into the oil, then you screw the shock cap on. The bladder expands up into the shock cap so that there is room for the oil that is displaced as the shaft is pushed into the shock.
