These didn’t have the tips that were small enough for those circlips
Oh. I haven't had any small enough they didn't fit. Those must be some tiny clips.

I have a set just like them, I had to modify a set of tips just to fit inside the holes of the clip. Then I encountered the issue of the tool itself doesn’t close enough to compress the clip to get it back in.

I got these tmaxx shocks and decided to pull them apart and make sure the seals were greased because out of the box they felt dry. Sure enough they were dry. The instructions say to just add oil, pump n go. I was always under the impression a little grease on the seals goes a long way.
Taking them apart was the easy step, the internal circlip was not too bad to get out but getting back in…….🤬 I went out and bought some internal ring pliers that didn’t quite have the right size stuff. They didn’t close tight enough either. So I modified them for my needs. The first 2 were a pain but I got the clip back in. I inserted the clip after pushing the shaft through the seals, because if you do the clip first then the shaft tears up the x-rings. A 30 minute shock build took like 4hrs of 🤬 around with that damn clip. On the next 2 shocks I just rubbed some grease on the shaft and worked it in n out hoping some may have gotten in there. :finger:
Does anybody know of or have the proper pair of snap ring pliers for this small of a clip!?

Not sure if you ever found some snap ring pliers to fit, but I came across these earlier, and remembered this thread, so I thought I'd share them with you. From the looks of it, if none of these would work for you, then I'd sumise that they may not make a set to fit, as not only do these come in multiple sizes, and are switchable from squeezing to expanding, but they also come with multiple sized tips, some of which downright look like needles.

I have a set I modified to fit but I think maybe I’m doing it wrong. I saw a video of someone putting the shaft in after the snap ring is in. I tried this before but pushed the threads through first which tore up the xrings. Looks like you can push the top of the shaft through and then hopefully get the 2 e clips installed that hold the piston in place. Idk 🤷

Those are steep but probably worth it.

My snap ring pliers do fit, the ring is just hard to get in. There’s just too much spacer/x-rings crammed in to the socket, you have to push the clip down somehow while clamping it shut to seat it in the groove. Nice shocks but a nightmare to put back together. You can’t just shove the shaft through the x-rings, they just get torn up.

You are really putting in the effort on this rig, seems you have her dialed in. How do you like those tires and rims, do they stick to the rocks well?
I love the wheels and they are very easy to put together. The tires, well I haven’t had anything consistent to test them on compared to others. The scorpios are designed for straight up rock. Compared to the grabbers that came in my senderoHD, yes I like them.

I did the Dlux Goat tires, on Dlux high clearance wheels, a little while back, for my Capra, and they went together really nicely as well. Following that, things have kind of taken a pause on that front, as life has gotten in the way, I am hoping to continue on my build in the next week or so. I hate having projects sitting, as they continually occupy my thoughts until I finish them. 😂
