Looks like a lot of integy parts combined with HCR parts.

I'd like to be there for the first bad wreck...

I wonder why they left the reverse servo on there not hooked up. Apparently they aren't done yet.

I have that fuel tank on my 21 maxx. It's durable, but man is it a pain to fill. I run with a half body too, and it's still a pain. Especially when your fingers are numb from the cold.

Anyone have a filling suggestion? Other than going back to a stock tank. (i know someone will bring that up) I'm not opposed to drilling a hole or two in it. Just not sure what to buy or make.

When I used to fly, we called planes that were too pretty to fly, hanger queens. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw that pic. Nice truck, but something I personally wouldn't want to bash.

As for the tank, look in the plane section at the lhs (or online) for a 1 way valve or hidden fueling probe. Tap another fitting in the tank and fill it with a fuel pump. Put the 1 way on the end, or just plug it with a bolt or something. Seems to me that that solution would be about as bothersome as dealing with the metal cap on the metal tank. That was alot of help wasn't it.

It is more than you think. The alumimum tank has of course aluminum threads. How many times do you think i can take the lid off and put it back on before the threads get so worn that it won't stay tight? I don't know either, but al is soft and i don't want to find out. Not at $60 a tank anyway.

Your way may be a hassle once, but after it's installed, streamlining filling it will be the issue, not getting the lid on and off.

Thanks.

You're right, olds. I'd ditch the 1 way valve or probe idea though. I'd tap the fitting and put an inch or two section of tubing on it and plug it with a bolt. Seems to me that a probe (or the like) might get crap in it, and you'd end up injecting that crap into the tank. The bolt it simple and prevents crap from getting in. Hand operated fuel pumps are relatively inevpensive, but fueling will take longer than on a stock tank. I'd use some JB Weld on the fitting too, even if you tap threads for the fitting, just to make sure of the seal.

Since i don't do planes or anything of the sort, what handpumps are out there that will last awhile and are relatively compact?

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

(About the truck above)
It's nice and sparkly, but they should have stuck with a couple colors. I try to stick with blue, black and silver on mine. Believe me, the way i drive, it looks best with the body off as well.

Probably should have started another thread for this...

Thanks though.

Any opinion on this?:

Nice and compact. Could probably mount it on a bottle instead of a gallon jug. I made my own fuel bottle out of a quart sport (tupperware) bottle. I made it when i was new and have since replaced it with a real bottle. But i think i'll get something like this bulb and permanently mount it to the sport bottle thing.

I used one of those on my gas setup for my heli. It works, though you might get tired of squeezing it. Also, it works on a 1 way ball, so you hold it one way to fill, flip it over to defuel, and it has to be vertical to work right.

It was fairly big. The engine on it was a 23cc gas burning Zenoah, so it was probably about a 20oz tank.
