RC Driving Style
i just installed RRP steel gears in my maxx with a FOC, and it was running perfectly fine until i got a linkage cought in the spur and it ate my clutch up real bad, so i got the part for that and some other things (new chassis braces, i spooled the rear diff) but i did not open the tranny box. when i got it all back together and fired the engine up, i gave it a bit of gas and when i expected it to go forward, the little bitch hits me in the shin, I'm really sort of mad at myself, or amazed rather. how dumb could i be... i dont understand why it would do this, i didnt do anyting to the transmisson, all i can thnk of is that i didnt get the stuff in the tranny box right the first time, but if i didnt then it wouldnt ahve worked right before i got the latest parts for it.

I'm gonna cry...

lol

sound like me hitting myself the ofther day i ran out of gas and it took off right at me i put my foot out to stop it without thinking that hurt

you did make sure the shifter on your controller was in forward, right? down is forward and up is reverse. and yes i know all about slamming into my legs lol

i dont have a reverse installed on the truck, the shifter doesn't do anyting, there isnt a servo for that switch.

Did you happen to take the diffs out? If you have them installed backward, it will do the same.

I rebuilt my diffs once and didn't realize there was a right/wrong way to do it. When I was done, it wouldn't even roll. The front tires would spin backwards and the rear would spin forwards.

haha Olds I've done that too when i was putting in some new diffs i wasn't paying attention when i was putting the diffs back on and i put everything together threw her on the floor and the wheels were locked up then i figured out i had both the diffs going in the same direction. Dam did i feel like a dumbass lol.

My cousin almost broke my leg last weekend, He was driving my maxx at wot in 2nd and I jumped up when It was an inch away. I got really pissed at him. I once heard a story about a kid whose truck hit him at wot, it broke his foot.

I messed up my foot once. I had leather boots on (dress shoes) and I was driving in my parking lot at work. I had it coming right for me at a pretty good clip. I locked up the brakes and the weight shifted on the truck to one side and the other sides tires lifed up... no brakes. Hit me like a ton of bricks. Had a bruise on my foot for a month.

yeah i spained my ankle b4 by hitting my self with my maxx it was on wet grass goin WOT jacked up the brakes 2-3 feet in front of me but of course being wet gras just kept on sliding and before i knew it wham in the ankle dam that hurt!

well i got my differential problem fixed thanks to olds, but since i put a spool in the back, when ever there is alot of force on on of the wheels in the back nad not the other, i brake the cup thing comes off the differential throught the bulkhead on connects to the halfshaft. so now thats my problem, any solutions, besides takeing the spool out? i guess the easyest solution whould be to tkae the spool out but id like to keep it, and i dont have enought money to get cvds....

:stupid:

hah, any one ever have a radio shack golden arrow buggy? my bro did, and one time he was runnin it without shoes, just sandals, and that thing had some balls, he went WOT into his big toe, it smashed his toenail back into his foot, it bled like a BI**H and we could barely get it to stop! this was years ago of course, but that thing was still wicked

R.I.P. Golden Arrow.....

I had one! It was my first RC!

My brothers bought it for me for christmas. I had it busted within 20 minutes of owning it. Got it wet and it fried the circuit board. To bad I didn't know about this stuff then. I would have retrofitted it with a speed control and reciever.

It was a lot different than what we play with. It had 2 open circuit boards sitting inside it. 1 for control, 1 for speed control. I fried the speed control board.

That was almost 15 years ago.

golden arrows rocked back in the day... speaking of ressurections of thoseings... i have a golden arrow with new gear on it,,, its pretty cool but not really... well ill get the pic of it scanned sometime and show everyone

My first was a red arrow..i think it caem out before the golden arrow.. my second was a golden arrow.. belive it or not I ahd a whole room devoted to it.

A lot of work and time in that thing. It really hauled ass.. I dropped in a "reedy outlaw" i think it was.. and it was faster than my neighbors rc10T with the stealth.. unfortunetaly I could not control it half as well as he did his rc 10. I would whip him in drags, and straights.. but one turn, and i was doing 360's lol
