If you had to do it over again with what you know now would you have still bought a Tmaxx or something differant like a Losi, HPI or something differant?
Just curious what every ones thoughts are.

Knowing what I know now, I would have gone with the savage as a first, then LST2 once I understood things more.

My first was a Losi XXX-NT 2wd 1/10 stadium. For bashing, it was pretty much the worst thing I could have bought. Would have been better off with the t-maxx! Which was my second RC.

Well, I didn't buy my first T-Maxx but if the choice were mine knowing what I know now I would have opted for the MGT. I think at the time I got my TMaxx the only monster truck options were TMaxx, Savage and MGT.

Knowing what I know now, I would have bought the Savage first. But, when I got my Maxx, it was the only MT available. The Savage, LST or MGT weren't on the market, and I don't think they were even on the drawing board.

Choices were either a Maxx or Savage for me. Sadly, I went for the Maxx (aka Money Pit).

I'm a die hard traxxas fan i sold my T maxx last week only to buy another this week, Traxxas did it first I dont really care who does it better i drive the originator

I haven't been in a hobby shop in my area that even deals Hpi. So I'm glad I bought a Maxx. And the only buddy I have that messes with Rc's is a die hard T Maxx upgrader. He's changed parts he's never even ran with, which gives me a lot of parts to choose from! I still want a Savage, though. If they're that tough, who cares about parts availability? I don't beat my Maxx hard enough to break it often, so a Savage would probably love me.

Yup same here. I was lured by the reverse thing....then I went with a Warhead....bigger mistake. So I ended up with a Savage. But have since bought another T-Maxx and have built it where it is very bashable now without having to worry much about breaking. Only thing I worry about on mine is the drivetrain....tranny/diffs ect.

I would have got the savage Xl had i done some research. the tmaxx was 360$ and the savage xl was 800$ at my lhs. had i done my homework i would be driving a savage now.

Good point. All that was around when I got my maxx was the 2.5 maxx and 21 savage. I stood there for a good long while looking at the two, then opted for the maxx because it looked easier to work on... and had reverse.

Wish I had found forums before that. Wasn't long after getting the maxx that a forum was a friggen necessity!

Haha, since the Maxx and Savage are the same price I should have gone with a Savage 2 years ago standing in my LHS. BUT! I didn't know so I had to go with a Maxx.

I'm thinking about going with something differant. Seems like the losi and HPI have most everything already done to them. It may cost more up front, but I'm thinking there will be savings in the end.

alpinehyperlite, you need some more lights on that thing. An ls15 on the push bumper, mirror lights, cage lights, and an ls12 on the back deck.

I'd have to agree with most of these guys here. I started with a maxx; if I had known a little more I would have gone with a savy. I'm not doggin' traxxas, but the t-maxx have become quite a money pit.
