Idle question

Hi I'm new to rc nitro cars and i have a quick question i accidently took the idle screw completely off and I'm been trying to put it back in but i can't i jst keep turning it and it doesn't go in does anyone know how to get it back in....

I'm gonna guess you may be too delicate and careful with this sensitive piece.
There is a rubber O ring that might be fighting with ya to get it started. Try to start the compression on this seal with more down pressure as you turn. You're not squashing the O ring, but spreading it out to the side walls of the shaft to seal it. Some proper grease is helpful. There is a favored grease, I forget... it's green... don't use any silicone sealers or silicone greases on engines.

You might not need to worry about grease since the needle just came out and you want to just put it back,,,, no dirt entry. or cleaning's been done

I'm guessing you have a rotary carb. There's a groove that has to line up perfectly with the idle screw. You just need to take your time, don't force it in, and find the groove/notch. The barrel(the part that opens and closes the carb) will slide in and out now that the idle screw is out. Push it all the way in, and try threading the screw as you slowly move it out a tiny bit.

As a matter..the carb I was referring to in above post is a slider. I'm glad MH Matt clarified the difference.

The grease being referred to is called Green Slime and is made by Associated. You can find it at most LHS for less than $5.

Thanks u guys it really helped i jst put the antena in the hole un moved the acelerater around until it went all the way throught then i put in the screw...
Ps sorry if I'm not good in explaining it
