Idle and LSN location

I have had a good look in my instruction manual for the location of the idle, hsn and lsn.

The manual shows an arrow going to where these are located, but the arrows are dark and so is the manual so I'm a bit confused as to which ones are which.

I can defo say i know which one is the hsn, but need clarification as to the idle and lsn. I see a small screw going in to the carb is that the lsn?, and is the idle screw located on the bit where the accelerator arm connects to the throttle arm (the screw has a rubber boot around it) or is it the other way round? (.18 SH engine)

Obviously the HSN is the tall one that sticks up out of the carb. Usually, the LSN is housed within the throttle arm. It goes straight into the carb housing. The idle screw is usually a small screw that goes into the carb body at an angle and typically has a small spring that it goes through.

Yes, the one with the boot is the LSN and the one near where your air filter connects is the idle air gap screw.

Thats just what i need to know. thank you.

To be honest i thought to myself that that can't be the LSN screw, it looks like it just holds the throttle arm on LOL.

I have another Q please, I have quite an excess of unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust. How much is an acceptable level, or should there not be any unburnt fuel exiting the exhaust?

The "spittle" is actually unburned oil content from the fuel. A little is better than none. You definitely want _some_ spittle coming out of the exhaust; It indicates that you are running rich, at least at idle.

Don't worry about the fuel right now. It does mean you're running rich, but early in the break in process you want that. Keeps the engine cool and lubed. As you tune it for performance, that will diminish a bit. But it's nothing to be overly concerned with.

Thats good to hear, now the only concern i have is it making a mess of my clothes !!

I have passed the breaking in process (ran about 15-20 tanks )

Now time to carefully tune :-)
