Hello I just got my tmaxx all tuned and ready but I'm so confused on the right shift point. Its still at factory settings and rarely shifts into second so I need to figure it out. Like what would be a good shift time 5 seconds at full throttle? Pls help!

Usually if the trany's not shifting on a new maxx the tune is too far off, retune it and see it if shifts.

How far past break~in are you?

You can lower the shift point to get it to shift earlier, but it's probably a bit rich on the high speed still.

How many tanks did the "break-in" take?

Best to leave it at factory settings unless you install a bigger mill, larger/smaller tires, or you geared up/down. Tune is #1 for the shift, slipper clutch setting is # 2.

Break in took 5 tanks. And just noticed that all but 2 clutchs shoes have majically vanished . So now the spur gear woobles like crazy. Could that have been the problem?

Yes. Is more than likely slipping badly. I would get that fixed before running it again. You may want to pull the spur apart and make sure you have everything there but the slipper shoes then get a new set of shoes and tighten the slipper nut down according to the manual.

Depending on the slipper spring you have (standard spring or bellville [concave] washers), changes how you adjust it. If you have a typical spring, you usually tighten until the spring is compressed, then back off 1/4-1/2 turn. If you have bellville washers, you gently tighten until snug, then add 1/4 turn or so more (been a while since I had mine apart). If you over tighten belville washers, you ruin them and turn them into normal washers which have no spring.

I'm taking it all apart now. I'm missing 2 slipper clutch shoes and I have bellville washers

Just my preference but I've always locked, or, full tightened my slippers on my MT's as its typically easier to get the front wheels off the ground by doing so :)

Mine is seems pretty tight as well. I also have the upgraded all metal slipper pads. Now it makes a metallic noise, but I've put almost a full gallon through it since going with the metal pads and it seems to be working great so I'm assuming it is fine!

Put in a FOC "Forward Only Conversion kit" I did it to my MAXX a wile back & I am so glad I did Less parts moving around trans.. & it 100% solves shifting point issues...
