Matt is just a competitor, he gives 150% into everything. The guy is unreal. He came off on the show as a little cocky and hard nosed but it's his competitive spirit that makes him that way. He'll fight anyone, anytime, never complains and he's not a smack talker. He can back it up though. Even in Hughes/Trigg 2 when he got caught in the balls by an unintentional low knee and Trigg took advantage of it and started pounding on him he kept it together and out came the infamous HUGHESPOWERSLAM! And then finished it just as Hughes/Trigg 1, Rear Naked Choke! Gracie is just too onesided of a fighter with his only thing be BJJ. He not strong enough to be a very effective striker and he can't wrestle or grapple with Matt cause Matt's a tank. I for one am relly excited to see BJ Penn make a come back to UFC, BJ is an Awesome fighter but I believe Matt has stepped up his game so much since he lost to him over two years ago that Matt will avenge that loss and prove to everyone he is one of the greatest WelterWeight mixedmartial artists, EVER!
As for me, LOL, you won't see me fighting in UFC anytime soon, undercard fights are just rediculous as far as pay out! I mean common, you really have to want to fight bad if your willing to jump in and go for $2,000 with a $2,000 bonus if you win. I wrestled in high school and here recently decided I needed to get back into something so went back to Muay Thai (I farted around with some kickboxing in high school and after with a couple friends that were into it but never pursued much). Now I'm more into it than ever, we spar more at level 2 which is fun and I have a 6ft bag in my basement that I beat the hell out of just about everynight. I know it don't fight back but what the hell. I've haven't faught "true fight" yet but probably will soon. All my experience has been limited to a couple clowns on the street or in bars and this one guy in France that told me I couldn't sit at the table I was eating my lunch at! LOL
