Hello,
Recently i ordered a new picco p2 .21 for my maxx. I read so much good stuff about it on this forum and wanted to try something other than the 2.5. I ordered it last week and my new engine was sitting on my doorstep when i got home thursday. Installed it with no problems and gave it a start yesterday. When i first tried it started right up with no problem at all. I let it idle through the tank (while closely keepin an eye on the temp) and it never stalled out once. I shut it off and completely let it cool down, and came back to continue breakin. It would not start for me. I still can not start it now. I tried switching glow plugs, glow plug wire, different needle settings ect. What should i try, I'm getting fustrated here, i really want to get this bad boy broken in!
I'm runnin: Mc 59 glow plugs and Blue thunder 20%.
I'm stumped, why would it run so perfectly, then not even start at all? I tried all of these needle settings: H 3.5 L: flush with housing, H 4.5 L: 5.75 H: 3.75 L:7.5 and H:4 still with no start. I would appreciate any help!
THanks

I have heard that sometimes the ezstart will show the glow plug is lit, and it really is not. I think you should try a glow plug igniter and see if that helps. If it is not firing or trying to start it probably is the glow plug is not getting power.

I agree with Hudler. Pull the blue glow plug wire, use and ignitor and the EZ start together. My EZ start had that problem, and so have several others at the local track. I originally soldered in a new wire, then got another wire harness, and it still didn't work. There's a problem on the circuit board, and when it fails, everything works, or looks like it works, but no current goes to the glow plug.

Thanks for the input guys. I actually had the same thought earlier. I talked to One of my friends who used to have and rc car, and borrowed a glow ingitor from him. Only problem was it was totally dead. Its charging as we speak, so ill give it a try in the mornin.
Thanks for the input, Hopefully ill get it runin tomorrow, cause I'm itchin to get her broken in!
Thanks again,

Let us know here if you ran into the same problem with your EZ start. If enough of them prove to be bad, maybe Traxxas has, or will have, a program to replace them.

i had also had a problem with those dumb glow plug wires. i just traded skyline racer my ntc3 for his 2.5 maxx. the first thing i did was take that stupid blue wire off and just use a glow ignitor. the blue wire works for a while, but when u roll the truck it will more than likely rip the little wire in half.

Well, went out this mornin with the charged glow ignitor, and also heated it up with a hair dryer (just to be sure). After about 2 seconds of cranking it fired right up!!! The glowplug light on the easy start says everything is fine, but i guess that was the problem. I'm gonna have to go buy a glow ignitor, since it worked so well. Then i wont have the problem again.

By the way, i ran it alot today, and am almost ready to start leaning it out! So far it runs like a champ. Thanks again for the help guys, i appreciate it alot!!
