Hey guys, I have upgraded alot on my maxx and am considering new shocks now... any suggestions and/or experiences? don't want to spend a fortune but want better than stock. :)

No. Run a set of 4 unlimted supermaxx shocks! Best shocks for the money! 60 dollars. I reccomend 55 wt oil.

Yeah, the UE shocks are awesome! I have 4 on my maxx. Havent tried them out yet, but they are nice! You only need 4 of em. 40 weight oil feels like too much with the shock off the maxx, but i will test it when i install them.

SEARCH = T-MAXX SHOCKS
This seems to be a very common thread
UE shocks are OFNA 9.5 rear buggy shocks......they work great.....I like any shocks on the T-maxx that aren't stock.......if your just running around in your yard they work fine...go to the track and see what breaks on a T-maxx and you'll find out real quick what you need to change on it.....

mabye this makes a difference...
-I have....full silver aluminum suspension inc. shock towers.
-full front, center, rear skids - etched flames
-steer servo skid aluminum
-xtm .18 w/tuned aluminum pipe
-blue shock socks (these have made a huge difference in longevity and cleanliness)
-Hitec 645 steering servo
-hi-step rear bumper, baja front bumper
-hot bodies chev body
-rpm claws w/ some baja tread tire

Anyway I wouldn't think the aluminum suspension makes any difference in shock performance only durability... If I truly go out and bash thing are going to break if I drive it like I stole it.. so why do I only need four of those UE shocks. and where can I order some? any other suggestions if I preffer 8 shocks???

right on! I will look into getting a set of these UE shocks. thanks guys. :spit:

If you really like the 8 shocks then the Big bores are nice....the UE shocks are definately more durable cause they are 1/8 scale buggy shocks.....you can also get 4 now and 4 later just use lighter oil in them when you add shocks......I like the supple suspension that has more droop as it does lift.....it's not good for big jumps but it handles the bumpy parts of the tracks better...

I'm currently running 8 traxxas big bores with rc raven dual rate springs. I have no complaints, they work great! I have never tried the UE shocks, so i can't make a comparison, but i love my big bores!

To me, the big bores are just an aluminum version of the stock shocks. I dont really think they have more durability, but thats my opinion as well. The UE shocks, on the other hand, are a lot beefier and are more durable than even 8 shocks, imo.

Aluminum would naturally be more durable than plastic...and the big bores have a thicker shaft and beefier pistons...they do look like stock shocks but that's also part of the beauty....sleeper RC.....hook it up but make it look stock......I like running my mutant maxx w/ a stock MGT body on it.....nobody knows what to think....
