Sold / Found I want free stuff!! Old electric motors.

I need to practice cutting Coms with my new lathe but don't have any old motors to practice with. At this point I'm not comfortable cutting / hacking a working motor.

I will gladly take any junk old ones off your hands. I have no issues paying for shipping or trading for something I may have laying around.

My grandpa has a huge lathe he used to use for stuff... it is bigger than a shop smith. He said i can have it when i get space. I think i will get into electrics when that happens... the lathe is from the 40's or 50's... its nice.. and heavy!

Let me get a clue as to how this is properly done and I will cut them for you. I have a feeling I may hack a few before I get it right. I would feel like a total ass wipe if I screwed up someones motor.

yea I'm still learning on my lathe that i got from plaid... i fould some old comm's to learn on and *ucked one up very bad lol

I chunked through my first comm trying to find the proper speed RPM and side to side speed. I'm sure after 10-20 cuts ill have it down. Just like anything else, I'm sure it will come with practice.
