What kind of engine is currently on your maxx? Most ppl seem to like the Sirio .18. I went with the TRX 2.5 when I upgraded, and it was a worthwhile investment I think.:chinese:

bigger? do u mean like .21 bigger or what? i think that they have now a picco .21 that fits right into the new maxxs without modifications?

HSMAXX -

Lots of questions need to be answered first. How much money do you have to spend...more are you willing to spend?? Do you wanna do a full blown money on a Big-bore conversion and if so do you have the money for a PROPER big bore conversion?? What kind of motor do you currently have in your maxx....the ole and kinda weak but reliable Trx .15 or the nex Trx 2.5 that still a .15 but worked more???

I was happy with the power of my 2.5 but it can be a tuning nightmare and especially compared to good great motors like O.S.! Don't get me wrong, the Trx 2.5 is a powerfull motor and especially for a .15 but it's not going to hang with a big bore or a real .18. I went through 3 gallons of various fuel before I replaced the piston sleeve and rod with a Sirio piston, sleeve and rod to increase the stoke and overall power. I also added a Sirio pipe and my T-maxx is kicking ass and taking numbers off and especially on road. I can smoke some .21's and hang with allot of .25's ....I've very happy that I didn't spend all the mooola on a Bire bore conversion that puts substantiallly more wear on general drivetrain components that requires more money for stronger drive train components.

If you want to get a completely new motor I would go with either a Sirio .18 and Sirio pipe (they call it the 3.0 T-maxx because of the immense popularity of the T-maxx). THe Sirio is a true "bolt-in" replacement for the TRX 2.5 as you can use the stock clutch and clutch bell but I would change the gearing for you use/s.

That, or I would get a good ole and kick ass O.S. .18 (3CC) built to OS specifications by DuraTrax or direct from an O.S. distributor.

gota love the sirio .18 I do. I need cvd's becasue it will just twist these stock plastic ones.

It would help us to know what T Maxx that you have. If it's the 2.5 go with 30%NB's recomendation of the piston/sleeve or just go and get the Sirio 18(3.0). I have had both the stock 2.5 and the 3.0. The 3.0 kicks the stock 2.5's butt hands down. The 2.5 with the Sirio upgrade is supposed to produce almost as much power for about 1/3 of the cost. Whatever you decide to do upgrade the pipe to the Sirio big bore. It'll give you huge performance gains over the stock chamberd pipe. The only must do past that will be to upgrade all of your new found hp with a set of cvd's so you don't keep breaking the plastic sliders.
You'll have a blast!

Hey guys,

This post reminds me again, why the phuck didn't the stock T-maxx come with real CVD's again?? IF Team Associated built the Maxx it would have been a bad ass stock.

Peace

FYI ......Allot of my local LHS's that I've talked to have had allot of bad chit to say about the Sirio motors in general....none of those LHS's sell the Sirio motors. Then, the LHS's that do sell the Sirio motors have nothing but good to say.....lol.

One of the younger guys (22 or so) that I talked to @ my fave LHS had nothing but bad to say about the Sirio and told me to get a full blown bire bore conversion. Well, it turned out that he was all female pee pee hurt because two of the guys that he races with where keeping up with and often spanking his .21...lol Opinions are like assholes but get allot of them before you make any final decision. The colective knowledge here is better then most every LHS I know combined.

Peace

I love the Sirio .18 in my Maxx. It kicks ass. IMO the main downfall about the the Sirio is that IT IS a race engine, and it won't last as long as other sport-minded engines. But don't let me deter you...the Sirio is an ass-kicker for sure! The engine has enough power to spin all 4 tires on asphalt and leave 25ft rooster tracks in the dirt!
As a side note, if you get the Sirio YOU HAVE TO GET THE SIRIO PIPE!!!!! The blue banana makes all the difference in the world on that engine.

Mmm, I think I'll be looking to get the sirio pipe and open the real power of this monster. I still have a stock pipe on it.

AAAWWww dude...if your running the stock .15 T-maxx pipe on your .18 Sirio then your really missing out throughout the entire powerband. THeir's a guy that sells the blue Sirio pipe on Ebay and always has them..."buy it now"...he's the cheapest I've seen anywhere.

Peace

My bad I meant to say The TRX 2.5 that's still a .15 as you probably know. YOur running a pipe made for a .15 engine on a .18 so your definitley missing out on power...you'll love it with the Sirio pipe. My friend had a PHaton racing pipe on his 2.5 T-maxx and I definitley didn't like the way it sounded. It sounded very muffled and pitched higher but apparenlty it was a pipe made for top end. THe combo of the 2.5 motor with the sirio piston/sleeve and the Sirio pipe is the nice kind of low rumble that I love to here.

StretchM - That's about what the mod list looks like on my maxx but I did get a sweet Harcore racing Ti chassis. The only thing left to get is CVDS.

Peace
