My 3.3 on one of my maxx's wont start at all. I have opend it up and everything to make sure everything looks ok.. its maybe 2 months old and I have only had it out maybe 5 times tops, cause I was waiting for new fuel. well I wwent from e-z start to pull start because trying with the e-z start just didnt get me no where so instead of charging batteries over and over just to get it to start it I went to pull start. one wy bearing is good, everything seems to be fine it just wont fire.. tride new plugs new lines, I am loosing it and know I am over looking something cause how irritated I am.. any ideas would be great, cause I can't think of anything else but new motor and this one is pretty much new.

Dumb question maybe, but are you getting fuel to the carb??

yeah I took the tube that goes to the exhaust and blew in it to make sure it got there. no question is dumb because the littlest things could be it sometimes!!!

what r ur carb needles at? maybe one or more needle is closed or almost closed?

i reset them once but I am wondering if they got gummed up from that awsome traxxas fuel that I was using. Thats why I love this site!! always get ideas that you overlook. I am going to tear her down in alittle while.. I am almost tempted to just use the servos from the old maxx and get my jato running for the time being.. Tonight I think I am going to spend it working on the couple I need to fix.. I gotta get the bench cleaned off I have a couple projects coming in the mail this week!! I have my first crawler on its way for me and the boy. and a couple electrics. So I am trying to get the problems I have now all fixxed.. any other ideas would be great!!! I am going to keep checking back before I try to tackle it later..

I just messed with it again and I was kinda leaning torwards the carb because it is all the way tight and it almost feels alittle loose and it seems like the needles are messed up thinking back to when it was actually running the tune was way different from all the other 3.3's I have..

i just put another carb on it and got it to start and run really poorly but it ran and now glow igniter is dead....

ok so I I have tried acouple dif. carbs and it made a difference from what it was doing with the origional carb, but it wont idle ( stay running) unless I hold the throttle slightly. and if i mess with the needles I can get it to go maybe 15mph if lucky and get it to idle for a sec. or two and then will die.. I have tried almost every positon on the needles and it might go alittle better but it isnt fixxing the problem..

I am wondering if there is a air leak somewhere. I am going to put new lines on it tonight even though the old ones arent that old..

ANY IDEAS WILL HELP!!!!!!

The motor is newer than all my other ones so it should be running the best you would think!!! I have a motor I rebuilt that runs amaizing compared to this one..

You said your carb is a little loose . Mine wen't loose on my old engine and was an absolute nightmare to tune or even start . I only had a about 2 mil of play innit . Sealed it up made sure it was tight and ran perfect . Or you could pull the sleeve out and make sure you haven't got gunk in your ports . Just an idea .

my jato is now doing the same thing. I am going to go through them really good tomorrow and see what I can figure out...

cleaned out the carb and sealed everything. and she runs!!!!!! idles alittle high right now but idles!!!!!! tomorrow is the jato's turn,, wish me luck!!

good luck hope it runs good. started my slash fund. as done alot of debating on what to get . my lhs only deals with the blitz in sc . but there going to order me a slash wen i get the dollar . as it seems the best truck for bashing . and have checked out somecrazy ass vids on youtube .. i dnt care if there common they look sweet and bash hard. . do you no much about the 4x4 version ?

the only thing I know about the 4wd version is that I want one!!!! that is the next rig after I get 1 more crawler!!!
ok so everything is sealed in the jato and got it to idle once and now it is acting the same way.. why oh why..... it was acting just like the maxx and the maxx is fixxed!!!! I honestly think its either the carb or the tank.. I think I overlooked the tank... and the carb seems different for some reason.. I can't put my finger on it but something is off I think.. well know because everything is sealed and tight..

You put everything in at the same angle . Checked exhaust pressure . Head bolts are tight . And the thread on the burn room is good ?

you know I seald the header to the block on my maxx maybe I will do the same to the jato... I will check the other screws after work tomorrow I should be home early enough.... Oh happy 4th!!!
