Ok, picturesque setting: empty parking lot in the late night. No one around of an authority figure, hell I'm the one in charge here tonight. Anyway, I have officially finished breaking in my Savage and began the later evening hours by seing what it can and can't do. You know, jump a few curbs, do a few donuts stuff like that. I climb a curb. Then another. This one I only get halfway up. I give a little gas but it's not going on it's own. I give it a little push with my foot and it's going again.

Well mostly. It seems really hard to control. Almost like I only have front wheel drive but that's almost impossible. I mean I have steel drive shafts that come stock and I didn't put my Savage through the trials like I routinely do with my t-maxx. So I figure something has worked itself loose. I take it inside the office to check it out.

Of that's what it is, one of the rear dog bones worked loose. No problem. I can have it back on the road in no time. Only after I have finally removed the dog bone I find one of the ends is completely sheared off. Oops.

I popped the cherry on my Savage in under 36 hours!!! Cool beans.

Maybe HPI will let me claim this as a warranty repair, if not I'll order one and have them overnight it as soon as I get off duty this morning.

Already, they should call you just the master of disaster:rolleyes:

hang on when did they start calling you that I thought you were the T-Maxx Master of Disaster Hmmm oh well

Man, that has to be some kind of record (even for you). Guess you'll gave plenty of time to play around with your suspension set up and other experimental mods.

Just before you broke the damn thing; what was the drive like? Better, even with or worse for you than your .21 T-Maxx?

Just looking for the mook's experience/view point on the Savage? :D

As you can see from the pic, the underside is not even scratched before I broke the dog bone.

In case you're old, like Sky, and your eyes are failing you, here's a close up pic.

how is that broken I don't see any broken spots, you must be able to tell if it has even the tiniest crack with your experience...

The dog bone that more or less fell out in my hands in more pieces that it was designed to be in kinda clued me in on the problem.
