i bought an lrp 28 on november 4,2010 and today the piston broke what should i do call the lrp and tell them to give me a new one plz help

Absolutely. They'll ask you to send it in, and either repair or replace it if it's a defective unit.

Just for my info, what were you doing when it failed?

thanks

the thing is that i threw it away but should i still call though

i dont know i havent seen this in my hobby years i was just running it pretty fast like full throttle for like 5 seconds and then pressed brakes and it wasn't moving anymore so later i open the engine and see the end of the is like the little hole is in half i was like wtf

LRP Warranty

I would recommend you ask the LHS that you bought it from or the Distributor you purchased it from for "preferred" contact information, they may even handle the warranty "in house" just to take care of you. At the RC Parts Factory we let the customer know right up front that the actual warranty is covered by the Manufacturer not the LHS or Distributor, BUT we and most reputable dealers/LHS' will bend over backwards to "assist" with any warranty issues, hope this helps....:)

one more question

what if i have to return the old engine but i dont have because i threw it away now what would i do

Hate to say it....but you probably threw away the LRP warranty as well.

If you threw it away you have nothing. You're on your own.
NO company will send out a new item because you tell them it went bad and you threw it away. If that were the case, I'd need a storage barn for all the TVs, stereos, computers and cars I tossed because there "was a problem".

thanks anyway

thanks anyway my dumbass threw it away

Did you properly break the engine in? I know it may be an obvious question but how did you do it? Also if you have so many years in the RC business then why did you throw it away? Something does not make sense here. My new car malfunctioned so instead of taking it to the dealership, I burnt it.....hmmm

crazy

If you bought it two days ago, go dumpster diving and get it out.

yeah thanks i rather not ur crazy

i only have like 4 years in the hobby I'm only 14 bro i have never blow an engine in any of my cars and i worked in a hobby shop but like only for repairing cars not selling any cars or anything like that

No, if I tossed a $150+ engine in the garbage you can bet your ass I'd be going in headfirst for it. Crazy, is throwing it away without finding out first whether or not it could be fixed or replaced.

So you fix them but you throw an engine in the trash rather than find out what is wrong with it? That makes it even worse! Yeah I hope your customers don't hear that. Not sure I would let you touch any of mine...lol. You obviously have a lot to learn and I hope you have gotten an important lesson of of it.

So you worked in a hobby shop, "working on RC's" and you have never seen a piston fail? Wow. What did you do there? Pick them up and dust them off on the shelves and call that working on them. So you get mad at a motor, and just throw it away? Your a child. And not too bright of one..... Then you ask for a free new one, with nothing to show for it. Maybe I should call ford, tell them my truck broke down, burn it, and then tell them to give me a new one for free? Come on. Dont be an idiot. You are obviously just a spoiled little PITA, so just have mommie and daddy go buy a new one for you to break and pitch. And another thing. What kind of keyboard do you have that has no punctuation keys? No periods ( . ), question marks ( ? ), commas ( , )? They are used in every day life to heal break up sentences so normal people can understand thoughts or ideas. Thank you. Goodbye.

He still did not even say how or IF he even broke the engine in when I asked him. If your try to run the crap out of them out of the box of course they will fail. You worked at a shop which proves that just because you work there does not mean you know crap. I agree with Alpine....tough luck you prolly brought it on yourself....next time get some who actually knows what they are doing help you out ....but you get paid to fix them right? What a joke.

I wasn't going to add any more to this thread, but I need to clear something up.

A. YOU WORK IN A HOBBY SHOP!
1. You were running a 2 day old engine wide open. "Full throttle".
1a. YOU WORK IN A HOBBY SHOP?
2. You threw the rod.
3. You work in a hobby shop.
4. You never saw anything like that before.
4a You work in a hobby shop?
5. You never asked anyone at work what do do.
5a You work in a hobby shop!
6. You joined the best RC forum on the internet.
7. You asked our advise.
8. You tell us you threw out the engine.
9. You think you can get a new one.

#6 is the only thing you've done so far that actually makes sense.

How about being honest with us, even though it's already a little late.
