Hello, I have been on this forum before but I forgot my username so I created a new account. I have an xtm xt2 buggy and the only place i drive it is a local track. I have come to the conclusion that this is not a track buggy. It seems real slugish when compared to the other buggies at the track. Instead of buying a new buggy I figure i will just upgrade this one and I want to start with the engine. My buggy has a 24.7 engine currently. I don't know whether I should get a smaller engine or a bigger one but i want more TORQUE!!! These buggies at my local track freakn scream and have so much torque!!! No matter how good i tune mine it will not sound or perform like those other buggies so i need some help. I would also like to get a few more laps out a tank of gas. So do i go bigger or smaller? Also, what are some good brand engines? I know i will need several other upgrades to be able to compete but I would like to start with the engine...Thanks...

Well i run a Ex-Tech .21 eb mods from trinity and just love it .. all the power ..top or bottom you'll ever need .. gas mileage is good so far still only raced 4 times and is still super tight and just about broken in to where i get good mileage out of it
Also have a GRP.21 tuned coming so i'll have some feed back on that one by next weekend
but alot has to do with the pipes that you run too.. JP-4 on the Ex-Tech is just awsome so far

Thanks, so pretty much A .21 is what I want to go with, will any engine fit on my xt2 boddy? Engines are usually around $100 right?

you may have to trim the motor hole for some motors .. but $100?? naa bro more like $400-$500

Yeah bud the reason all those buggies are screaming around the track is HIGH dollar race .21's.
The Trinity Ex-Tech is awesome, the GRP is right behind but not quite as powerful or fuel efficient.
Your best bet would be a Jammin JPX .21 off of towerhobbies. It would be about 200 shipped to your door. It will run real close to the high end Italian engines. Close enough that you could be competitve.
But you will need a starterbox, shop around. You can find them for 50 bucks or so.

Cool, I have a starter box. I'm not trying to go to crazy with it just something with a little more power (torque) than this xtm engine.

Thanks guys, where is a good place to buy engines? I am also thinking about getting the RC8 RTR if my buddie buys my xt2 but the rc8 come with a .28 engine. Is this a good engine?

I'd def. get the RC8 if you can. The engine is raceable, but the buggy itself is 10X your XTM. RC8's are capable of winning club races, right out of the box.

Yeah enough with this rookie crap! I'm getn an rc8. I feel like my driving skills are all there I just need good buggy..
