Ok, I'm installing a hump pack in my Tmaxx.
You got the original battery box with red/black wires going to the switch- then black/grey wires going to the receiver box. So, I have this hump pack with red/black wires. (it's like a rubics cube for me tonight :loser: ). What the frig do I have to do to set it up so I can recharge them without removing the body everytime? I know this is simple and believe me because I know that I didn't want to post this. Please laugh in private so I don't cry from embarassment.:loser:
Revooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Buy Traxxas part number 3034. It includes the third plug. About 5.00 USD.

I did buy two - male and female. I just can't figure out how to work the wiring.:loser:

There are two ways that you can do it... You can arrange the wires so that the plugs are outside the casing (the redneck way), or you can get a three-connector switch (that has a charge lead). They'll run about 5-6 bucks.

You may have to switch the wires around so the polarity matches.

You lost me. Does it have three plugs? If it does, the ones with three wires go to the Rx and Batt. The lead with two wires you hang or strap to the box and you will charge off of that. If your switch only has two leads, get the part above. It is a switch with THREE plugs, one male, two female, one of the female is two wire. Below is the Revo parts list, but look up part 3034. It will work. I did both my Maxx's this way. No other mods needed.

you bought the switch?? if you did. connect the battery to the side with 2 plugs on it. the other one on that side is the charge lead. and the single plug on the other side goes to the reciever.

confused yet? i am!1

Hey don't feel bad, I couldn't figure out what that charger I got with the Revo went to. I figured it has batteries like the Tmax and I couldn't find them lol Now That I mention it, hell I took the receiver out of the Tmaxx looking for the batteries also :loser: We're new and it takes some getting used to. I do wish you would take some pictures of this since it may help my friend in converting his Tmaxx to a charger type also.

Ok, I can get that switch. I won't be able to get it for another week. So, I'll try and explain it again cause I can't believe the guy at the HS who has several of them gave me the wrong stuff.
1. original batt. holder- 1 red wire/1 black wire goes to the switch.
2. 1 black wire/1 grey wire from the switch to the receiver.
3. humpack has 1 red/1 black wire to female end.
4. I bought 1 male (1 red/1 black wire) and I bought 1 female (1 red/1 black wire):ponder2:

Ok. If you say so.lol. They can plug into each other. So, ya I guess if that's what they're called. Thanks Ratzo, wasn't sure where to post it since it is about a tmaxx but it is also electrical. So thanks.

Return them and get the Traxxas part. Easier, more reliable. Patching wires leads to glitches and failures.

Ray, other than the part, the only other decision to make is where to stick the extra lead/plug. I used servo tape and stuck mine to the side of the Rx box.

yea take those back. like revo said. when you start hacking the power wires it gets ugly. your lhs may have the switch. then you just run the plug out with the servo wires and stick it somewere you can get to it easly.

LOL..Thats fine.
The electric forum is mostly for electric cars.
Have a good night.

If you're talking to Kelly, one male plug with 1 red and 1 black wire coming from it. One female plug with 1 red and 1 black wire coming from it. I know I can get the part but it doesn't help me to understand. Gotcha on the electrical forum, xo.

If they do not have the Traxxas one, Cirrus makes one, too. I have a NIP one, but it the one I have is for J connectors. It can be modified, but that is for another day, eh?

On edit:

OK, let's slow down. Do you have the Traxxas or similar switch wherein it has three plugs?

If not, do you have a switch that has three sets of wires (no plugs)?

If you have the three sets fo wires (no plugs), do you have plugs to assemble the ends of the wires into plugs?

No, no, and on the 3rd question I have 3 sets of wires- 1 with a female plug at one end and 1 with male at one end. The other is a set of wires with no plug at either end. There's no switch on my Savage I don't think and it's wired for charging. I'll have a look at that perhaps.

OK, then the two plugs, male and female, go from the battery plug to whatever end it fits on the switch, and the other plug goes to the Rx. The one without a plug, assuming this is the one that is black and grey, will get wired to a plug, assuming you have one, that is pre-wired black and red. Do black to black and grey to red.

Most likely the malle plug will go into the Rx and the female will take the plug from the batt pack.

If you do not have a third, loose plug to wire to the loose wire ends, then just wait and get the Traxxas part. S**t, I'll get it for you tomorrow and ship it to you if your LHS won't get it. I know Rob has it as I saw it today.
