Is there anyone out there who doesn't think the Revo is worth the cash? Is there any rec.'s for hop ups? Are they good to race?

Ok I have seen you ask about an S Maxx and now a Revo, so my question is are you trying to compare these two? If your are the Revo would kill an S Maxx on the track. If your going to race Mt's the Revo is worth every penny IMO.

There is tons of post comparing trucks, do a little reading. When it's time to lay down the money for a new rc it all comes down to what you really like in your price range.

hugo, Revo, for racing or general all around, is pretty much top dog. Tons of upgrades. If, however, you think you might be doing more bashing, get the Savage. I like HPI products, a lot, but Revo does nail the MT racing crown.

Lots of Revo upgrades, if you need them. Did I say that already?!?!??!

Actually, I have a buddy who's getting into Rc. He's interested in the Revo. Me, I haven't got a clue as to what I want. I just know I want. My buddy doesn't have a computer so I'm helping him out. You guys are great. You help out so much on the site. It really makes newbie's feel comfortable. I know we tend to ask questions that we could get answers to if we read a lot. Sometimes schedules don't allow for a lot of time on the computer, so I want to thank you guys for being so patient. This is a great site. I do a lot of reading when I get the chance. So thanks.
Too bad you can't know what I want. Tee hee. Now that would help alot.

Revo Rancher, is there anybody you won't help? God, I can't believe how much help you give to the people on the site!

Revo Rancher looks top notch to me! Then again I'm just a Newbie too..........

Rancher is a stand up guy. Seems to have alot more patience than some of us around here (myself included). 99% of the people here though are more than willing to help anyway they can (hell, that's why we are here in the first place) as long as you don't come off like the last few that have had very short stays or try to sell off bogus stuff. There's a couple of us here that have made many a post to the Revo threads, I know I've done my share of typing lately, but all the threads should be fairly new and towards the top. Feel free to spend sometime reading.

If you have a Gulfstream G550 or a race prepped Revo, talk to Jet, he's top dog on those!

Let us know what you end up doing.

What, no C-6's?

I took my revo out today for its first real bash. It was dry and 40 degrees. No snow (all melted), no standing water, just me, a skatepark and lawn...

I have p2 rockers with 55 weight oil. I was easily getting 10 feet under the revo and it didn't bat an eye. Did it time and time again. I even hit a curb head on (didn't realize there was a hole...) at about 1/3 throttle. No damage. I had a blast!

Handles way better than my savage. Is way more durable than any variation of the t-maxx and aside from the finicky 2.5R, it's a good little truck.

I'm also running low gearing due to most of the places I have are short distance... so I'm pulling wheelies everywhere with the stock wheels. I think I'm runnint 40/14.

I was out for about 2 hours and burned about 1.5-2 quarts of fuel. Great day with my Revo!

As for upgrades, I have a single steering servo (hitec 645MG), slider/spring throttle linkage, aluminum shock ball ends, HD servo saver spring, removed opti-drive (still have reverse) and a baby sock on the head to keep the temps up.

Sounds like you had a blast! I was thinking if I get the Revo that I'd do the FOC. Thanks for the upgrade tips. You're getting me all excited about it now.

No military for me. Did work some of the government owned G-wiz planes when I worked for Gulfstream but hated the government infilitration to get my super top secret clearance to work on 'em. LOL OOOOOOO secure SATCOM, big secret there! LOL I've always been corporate, little birdy told me a long time ago, stay away from the airlines (I listened) and have done well. Had I gone military, I probably would be in jail, I don't follow orders well:hehe:

I love my revo, it runs hard! And with a little patience, and tuning you will keep up with the best of the best. I will agree with Olds the steering servos need to go! Get yourself a good steering servo and you will thank yourself.

And btw Revo isn't really a nice guy he just comes across that way! :D J/K

Hey, VB, one more comment like that and I will come over to where you live in mooseville and hit you with my Penabscot Haddock! :trout:

:wasted: Cheers, bud!

Hey! You stole that from Canada. The Mayor of Toronto (when I lived there 2 years ago) thought it would be a good idea to have all these moose made with different themes to them. I'm not kidding, they were big like in your picture. All over the city. The reason was to draw more tourists to the city. Personally, I think he was a moose's a@$. Makes Canadians look stupid.

They do the same thing here in my town....we use Buffalo while our sister city uses the jack rabbit. The local college art class paints them up and the cities puts them every where.

Ray

ps, just sent Bruce (RushRC) the funds for my Revo

SVORay, congrats!!!!! on the Revo. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the Savage Limited, unless you can talk me out of it and into the Revo????? Are you a basher or a racer? You're really excited I bet!
