suhweeet!! My Collari mill came today. getting it ready to drop in, My clutch was on back order so i was GOING to use my stock 3 shoe off the s25, but one of the shoes is broken at the pin. (DOH!! wonder how it ran with the broken shoe?) Guess i'm waitin on my backordered Werks clutch after all. oh well :) we got 5 inches of new snow today anyway, prolly gonna be too cold to break it in now.

Quick question, the engine came with no manual, aside from a parts sheet, what did you guys use for break in settings, needle wise?

Straight from Eric at werks racing

7.5 out on the HSN, 4 on the LSN. I'm using a MC-8 and combo trinity and odonnell 20%. MC-59 was too hot for me but it won't hurt to try it. Make sure you heat up that head real nice before you start it for the first time, unless you like repairing pullstarts!

Congrats!

Thanks for the info SD, will use those settings once i get it all together.
Gonna be a bit waitin on the clutch so in the mean time i put some of the other new stuff i had ordered on the truck, :hammer: GPM Ti turnbuckles, HPI HD dogbones and center shafts, HB engine plate and chassis braces. Heres a few pics of what i put in (besides the motor)

Looks nice.

Here's what I encountered while breaking in.
Using a #8 plug with 30% Trinity monster HP.
When flooded, And it floods very easily, the pull cord wont retract. 2 of my friends have the same mill, we all had the same problem. After we losened the glow plug, It pulled itself back in.
So if it happens to you, do what I did and losen the plug.
Turn the truck upside down, and pull it a few times to clear the extra fuel out.
Also, this is a very thirsty engine and will drink a tank quicker than your used to when driving.
I may go with a colder plug.
MC59 would be good with 20% Too hot for 30%

OK. I just got off the phone with Eric @ Werks.
He told me to use 20% and a mc59 plug for best operation but more wear. An MC8 will be better for the engine.
A #6 if you want an Italian plug.

Just to let you know. I've been running my modified Wasp28 in my MGT and it's got an amazing amount of power (the wasp/picco26 doesn't even come close, I've had the MGT since Nov/03 and the first engine in it was the wasp26, I thought power was alright but could do with a bit more) with lots of RPM's making more power with rev's. With all that power the MGTwill need aluminum front/rear gearbox cases. GPM makes them. Another issue is the dual 13/23 input gear in the tranny is delrin and I've ripped the teeth off 2, so now I've adapted the savage aluminum 13/23 drive gear to the MGT. It drops right in with the addition of spacers. To get the right alignment you need to add 2mm on top of the 2mm roll pin that drives it. Just cut a 2mm roll pin in half and stick each half in the groove on opposite sides of the center hole of the savage gear before you slip it in place. Then add some 4mm spacers ontop of the gear so it fits with minimal clearance under the E clip like the stockone. You may shear the teeth like did running the collari .30 in the MGT; the aluminum savage gear should fix it.
