I have no luck with the truckzilla

I'm still not getting any wheelies with the .46 engine, let alone flipping the truck over. Could it be the needle setting? It doesn't seem to go into 2nd gear either.

About the pipe, there's a CVEC pipe for the Savage now. Would it be a better choice? Or should I go with the ribbed pipe?

To be honest........ I didn't see that many wheelies either. ;-(

I certainly won't see any now, I sold my Truckzilla last week on ebay, am clearing the decks ready to buy a 1/6 FG Marder Race buggy, they are awesome! 23cc 2 stroke chainsaw engine....... and virtually unbreakable, but we've heard that said before, haven't we!?

Doggie you may have to take your tranny apart and inspect it zilla's are kind of hard on trannies. My zilla did'nt start really putting out power until the 12th tank of fuel how many tanks have you gone thru?

No oofense but taking the trany apart is stupid. You need to tune the .46. Factory settings are too rich for anything but break in.

Thank you for the inputs everyone. I've run 14 tanks through the engine, and I was so happy that I could get it running without the engine shutting off. Last time, I got it running for the first time by going down from 20% to 14% oil content in the fuel (and that was by a special order since the LHS only stock fuel with 20% oil content).

I tried leaning the HSN 1/8 turn last time and the engine shuts off when I hit the throttle. I suspect that I still have too much oil in the fuel... and that the zilla doesn't go fast enough for the 2nd gear to kick in (the tranny is from an RTR Savage 25, so I didn't touch it)

The reason I haven't given up on the .46 is because I've cut a massive hole on the body for the .46 engine head. But if this keeps up I might go down to a .26.

no luck with the zilla!

No offense xxBanditxx but after I had tried adjusting the tranny and tweaking the needle valves on the .46 motor the transmission still would not shift upon inspection of the tranny I discovered that the pin that the claw catches to shift into 2nd gear had worned down enough so the claw would not make good enough contact to shift into second. The solution required me to replace the pin, which I did, in fact I put two pins in. Doggie from your last post I noticed you said you have not tried to adjust the tranny that maybe part of the problem. Did you know from engine vibration the adjustment screw in your tranny can move, changing your shift points? Before I put in the zilla conversion my savage stayed in first gear when I checked out the adjustment screw I discovered that it had changed from its original postion, I turned it back out counterclockwise 2 full turns then it started shifting again. Check your transmission shift adjustment screw. Refer to your HPI savage owners manual for instuctions or go to the faq section on their website

Doggie , you said that your fuel had 14% oil in it how much nitro does it have in it?

Wow, I didn't know that vibration could change the shift point. Perhaps there's a reason why we can't threadlock the adjustment screw?
The fuel has 20% nitro in it, the amount recommended by HB for the .46 engine. The HSN is at 3 5/8 turns from closed now, I'll try leaning it more.

I believe that the transmission block I bought (from ebay) was never used, so I'll try the adjustment screw first. But I guess I should have the 2 speed maintenance kit and some of those screw shafts handy. Looking from the instruction manual, having 2 screw shafts seems like a good idea. I wonder why do they just use one, when there are 2 slots.
