Here's a pic of my brake and how it jumped off the brake hub and rounded off the hub. I went to the lhs and bought the HPI #87150 kit. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue before? The hub seems to be short. It's a GPM. I am changing it tonight and see if the HPI setup solves the problem.

Yep, i've done that at least 2 times...probably 3 times. If you get a metal brake hub, it should solve the problem. The plastic one just won't hold up to the stopping power and heat from the HB brake kit

If the HPI kit you named is the dual disk kit, then your problem is solved. It uses a metal hub and steel disks. I put it on my Savage prior to selling it, and the brakes worked like a charm. Plenty of braking power and no worries about rounding off hubs.

On that kit SkyMaxx did you put a brake pad in between the two disks? My old one did not have the option plus after seeing this I don't want to stack the disks and pads too much or else I'll run into the same issue.

The hpi hub is long enough that you shouldn't run into that problem unless your screws back out of the tranny.

The one sky mentioned has 3 callipers (brake pad holders) and two disks. The calliper in the middle doesn't appear to have any "shoes" on it. It's just steel. The two on the front and back of the disks have pads.

Here's a couple of shots so you can see it:

I just got the truck from sky. With this mod, it easily endo's. I'm going to have to dial out a bit on my xmitter I think.
