I have a confession to make. VXL upgraded broke it a little.

3 weeks ago I finally got me a brushless. Yes I know, VXL isn't a mamba but it's not a bad set up for the Slash. I have ran it some on dirt, grass and asphalt with 7 or 6cell NiMHs. It's an awesome set up. In fact, I am wondering if I should even go to the 3s LiPO sense the power I have with it now.
Me, XxVASSAGOxX(aka Johny) and another guy (hope soon to become a member of the forum) Adam ran our RC's last week. It was a lot of fun, that is until I broke the small mounts that the VXL esc was on. I didn't realize the little black Saddle that came with the Velenion set up was suppose to be the original mount for the esc. I ended up breaking the two small screw tabs that held it on due to some major bashing. Now I have it super glued on the black saddle thing but I am wondering if I should use something else to keep it secured? Zip ties maybe? Not sure, any suggestions?

Double sided servo tape perhaps? 3M makes some strong stuff that Team FastEddy recommends highly. Or you could consider indusrial grade Velcro...

i used an old Hotel room key, cut it to size, and used some small screws to hold it into the stock ESC location, and used velcro to hold it in.

Not sure about using an old hotel key but I kinda see what your saying. I will look around for some stuff to mount some kind of bracket thingy on to the esc. The glue, thus far, is holding up but I don't know how many Bullwinkles it will take before it gets snapped off. Sounds like a good idea other than Zipties.

ShooGoo, holds great and cleans up pretty easy.

Industrial velcro! Very strong.

Just to let you know, my rig has a LOT of zip ties on it and hasn't broke yet!! Good stuff!
