Scored this on ebay about ten days ago, showed up today. Here's the mod list, and I have the Traxxas ESC and four 2s lipos on the way. I watched some vids on youtube, and I changed my mind about using my 3s packs, I just don't think I need that kind of power and wear and tear on it as it looks silly fast on 2s. I also got 2 NIP diffs, a set of off road wheels and tires, a NIP 30amp HK Quick ESC that I'm not gonna use, and few other things.

Mod list

Pro Line Titus bead locs with road rage tires
RPM F&R arms
RPM F&R axle carriers
RPM bumper
Delrin chassis braces F&R
New Era roll bar
STRC cooling motor mount and heat sink
GPM push rods and turnbuckles all around
GPM alloy shocks

I'll get some vids of it ripping around when I get it all dialed in.

The toe adjustment isn't that wacky, it's just the camera angle

looks good let me know how the tires work out for you
mine has the stock tires on it and it handle good but allways looking for something better

Is that a Revo? I am unfarmilliar with the term MERV & exactly what it is. I always thought it was a model of RC but I see thats Traxxas so now I be lost.

Badass rig though can't wait to see it rippin!

Nice mini revo. I thought mine had some bling good score. The beadlocks help alot they are heavier and a little wider. What are you using for a body. That's the one thing I need to do both if mine are trashed.

MERV is just short for mini e-revo

Your going to love that little sh*t! :hehe:

Thanks a lot guys, I'm dying to run this thing! Still waiting on my packs / stock ESC to arrive though.

As stated in another thread, I'm a big F1 fan, and I'm still fascinated by the F1 inspired suspension on the MERV. I dropped the spring rate in the front to get the recommended amount of static sag (can't fully tune it till my packs arrive though), and it's shocking how much travel the push rod setup gets from a super short stroke shock. A side benefit being the shocks are well inboard and protected. It's such a simple idea in theory, and so cool to see it work in an actual application.

Right now I have a well worn stock body. I beat the crap out of bodies too, hence why my pede has a cage only. Thinking of going that route on this one too. But man, the pro line raptor and slip stream bodies sure look sweet though. Thinking about a cage / summit rockers, push rods, and tires for off road bashing; pro line slip stream with stock suspension setup run low and the road rages while on road for the lower COG.

Your going to love that little sh*t! :hehe:

Thanks Mudslinger, I sure hope so.

The more I see these the more I want one. You guys gotta stop doing this to me. Sweet lil' MERV!

(whispers) merv, merv, merv :D I'll let ya know how I like it Cody.

I was watching that on E-bay...lol. I even bid against you once I think. That is funny. Good times!

Baaa ha ha, that is funny. I already had the TRX link radio system, so that made it easier from my standpoint.

Congrats/ Happy Birthday.....What did you score it for?

My first Mini I got for $100. with 2 3s Lipo's 2 bodies, rpm arms and alum knuckles plus some extra parts and a Flysky control with the proline wheels with those tires.....
Those tires suck in grass and dirt, very hard to control....

2nd & 3rd mini's I bought them together for $400. they were less then 1 month old, 4 lipo's (2 2s & 2 3s), plus 2 NiMh, brand new a arms in the package extra tire and wheel and a bunch of lose arms, sold 1 mini for $270

Thanks insane, I appreciate it. All I can say is, you got some deals! I paid a bit more than that, but got some extras, and they're really popular now as well. Even the CL ads I was seeing were in the $150-200 range with no extras. The road rage tires suit where mine will be run mainly, gonna order up some of the summit canyon at tires for off road.

I can't take it anymore, going to charge up a NimH pack and install my receiver for some apartment wheelies. :D

When the rear diff expires and it will, Buy a HOT RACING rear Bulk...The only Bulk out there with 2 area's where it is held tight together....just put one in mine and my employee did the same thing...

I saw one listed on a site up here used with nothing but what comes in the box for $300. Yup that's right he was selling it for what it retails at. I saw another for $400 with a set of on on road tires plus the stock ones and he was trying to play it off that the charger and battery it comes with he bought separate. I wish I could find one like the ones you guys got at a decent price.

Get some lead velcro and put it on the body sides and the battery doors. These little guys eat body clips for snacks. Since I've done my slip stream body has only come off a few times and they were wicked backflip crashes.

Have any of you guys had problems with the stock steering servo? I was running mine today in the snow and suddenly it locked up. When I brought it inside it started working again but had no power and would click when it got to the end point. Sounded like striped gears to me, and the rig is only a month old.

That's the one weakness of the merv. My son has stripped his once. I'm going to upgrade mine someday with dual servos.

Wow, I've never seen a more terrible receiver box design. I think I'm going to have to pull the motor to get the cover back in place, really Traxxas? It goes in just fine unless something is in the way, like, you know, your ESC and steering servo wires for example. I guess that just goes to further confirm these things are built by 7 year olds in China.
