So, I'm at CRCRC today with my good friend Jet and the truggy bug bit me...HARD! Man, those things look to be just a blast and as I finally got my Hyper to run long enough to TQ, I want to get one even more!

Got some research to do, for sure, but I'm thinking either a Jammin' CRT or Mugen may be just want the doctor ordered. Probably going to go used for my first, but I'm hoping to have one in the stable before Spring.

I'm sure I'll have some questions as my research progresses.

Be sure to check the For Sale forum in the next week or so. Going to have to make some room!

Yep I did the same thing! They are fast, durable, and easier to drive that a 1/8 buggy. They are just more forgiving. LOL, BUT like all new toys, I ended up selling the truggy to get back into buggy!!!

Looking into the used market, there are a TON and a half of race-ready CRT floating around now, they would be the bang for the $$ IMO.Jet can hook you up on the Grid(if your not on there). This is the time of the year to pick one up, BEFORE the spring season.

get the mugen....the reason there are so many used ones for sale is because they all went to mugen after buying the CRT.....buy once and buy well is what I always say.....at least now after having bought so much crap..LOL

What about the losi eight T??

I know they are not out yet....but it looks like a contender....thoughts?

8ight-T :puke:

In all seriousness, if it has the issues that the 8ight has, I wouldn't waste my money. That and the fact it's got about every sized bearing in it you can think of, you'll need to carry around a spares box just for those.

Monkey, I'll hook you up. Wish I had you out sooner and you coulda run my CRT. I do know of a CRT for sale and I've seen a couple of 5T's recently. Tell me what to look for and I'll keep my eyes open. TQ????? Just to say one of my most favorite quotes overheard during one of the RCP races...You were never on a TQ run if you qualified in the D main! J/K bro, had fun getting you bit!

Yeah, the Mugen was the FOM(flavor of the month) as was the K truck. With the Losi comming out there should be even MORE trucks out in the used market.

I said the CRT because it is a good truck and you can get a race ready used one for a REALLY cheap price anymore. It's still doing well on a national level. There are so many out there b/c it was the best truggy out for quite some time, and was the best option for a while.

Even with the problems with the 8ight, some racers still keep the buggy b/c it handles sooo well. I know Kingheads came out with a brace to help with the servo problem, but i'm not sure if that is the problem or not. I am not sold on their clutch set-up either, so if he waits a little while for a Losi, maybe they will fix the problems?

I just saw you sold the Revo, that should put you into a CRT if you want.....

I agree it is the flavor of the month syndrome...and I'm not saying the CRT is bad at all...but I noticed the mugen has already proven itself as the standard 1/8 scale ST to beat in durabilty.....the price is definately a big jump.....but it just performs...they did the buggy right and now they are doing the truggy right....if Xray came out with one I'd be itching to try that one.....I haven't really heard much on the Kyosho but that's mostly for the price & parts availabilty issues in my area.....
