I wanted a vehicle that would bash (not too badly) and I wanted to be able to race to cause we have a racetrack here. So, I've decided on a Revo. I was looking at a buggy but to get a decent one it's more than the Revo and I couldn't figure out how much bashing a buggy would take, especially if I wanted to race it too. So, unless any of you guys out there got a better suggestion...

A REVO?!?!?!?! What are you thinking?!?!? Haven't you read what a piece of crap those are. You should be getting a...

:ha: :jk:

Good choice. Enjoy it. Do you have it in your hot little hands right now?!?

Lucky...if I had the money for a Revo, I'd have goten that. But, alas, the only thing I can think of that would be fast on the track is a Mugen, but like you said, I'm not sure if those can take quite a beating!

Good choice, now go buy one!!

IMO a buggy will take more abuse then A mt will.
and still be ready to race..After a good day of bashing

Unless you hit something and bend the friggen shock mount! :opps:

Well...Zandor...give me your suggestions. I'm a newb so if you got a suggestion, I'd love to hear it. So...we got ourselves a word fight between Spitfire and Zandor!! I'd really appreciate your input.

Haven't got it my hands yet. Gotta check the cash cause I think I'm a tad short.

Dude, can't afford that. Don't forget I'm Canadian so if you figure out what I'd pay for the kit. That would be 700.00 + 15% tax. Then I gotta buy all the other stuff. Yowser!! Beauty of a buggy but no can do.

Thats on the expensive side, especially with the fact that it needs a radio and an engine, so you might want a Hyper 7: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGPN8&P=0

Spit back down you have no idea whats good and whats not..You have never owned any of them so STFU ok..

Out of the box RTR hands down the ofna PCR.is and will be the best bang for your buck.
Bashable and raceable<<<<Are these words?
Any way go ofna pcr rtr buggy Its fast and durable

here is my rtr Pcr getten air...

The Revo is a great truck, and can handle close to that of a truggy with a few mods. Looked into a truggy at all? Mammoth ST, LSP...?

I thought the MBX-5 was one of the best buggies, but I guess I'm wrong. Lets not over-whelm him with desicions...its hard enough comparing a savage and a revo, let alone all these things. Anyway hugo, whatever you do, buy a truck/buggy/car/truggy, and get out there and drive!

Zandor, that is some nice air you got going. That's the Hyper 7 PCR RTR?? I'll look into. See, that's why us newbies need so much help. Cause we don't know s@#t. Thanks.
AC48, I haven't looked into truggies. Got a suggesstion. I just don't want to make a mistake. I'm not working right now due to illness so, this money's gotta be spent wisely.

Good ones to look at are the XTM Mammoth ST, pretty cheap, well under $400 but its not the highest quality rig. The next up would be the LSP I think, very great handling true truggy, The Mammoth is not cause it has a two speed, but the whole layout is of a truggy. The LSP is a Hotbodies btw, I owned one and they are great. I would lookin into and decide between those two or a revo. Both the truggies are big block powerd 1/8, and the revo is small block 1/10 but its basically 1/8 sized.

The Revo is going to be the best basher, the trugggies will have an edge in performace stock.

If you go for a buggy, yes the Hyper 7 PCR RTR is a good one, others are the Mayhem or Jammin x1-CR. Yes, theres tons of choices lol, anything listed so far you will not be unhappy, its really a matter of preferce.

AC48, thanks. I'll look into all that you mentioned. I wish the Canadian dollar was equal to yours, then I could afford much more. I'll let you know what I decide. Thanks for the help. I'll just go to Ofna site, Losi etc.

Hugo drop me a pm when your ready i mite beable to help..i live right on the boarder us side Bellingham wa.
my wife goes to abbsford at least 2 times a week
I can buy It in the us and take it over the boarder and ship it from CAN.

just don't tell VB.OK

Thanks man. I'll do that. Still think I'm going with the Revo. I think I'll be happy with that. Really, I could be deciding forever cause everyone has different suggestions. I watched about videos on the Revo. I think it'll do the job.

Zandor, encouraging Canadians to do that....for shame..... :jk:
Hugo, basically you really need to know what is supported locally if you are looking to do this alot....the Revo is pretty common so finding parts should be easy...the Hyper-7 is an awsome RTR......the Jammin is also nice (both OFNA).......if you are planning on racing get a buggy...more fun...more abuse....more speed & more control.......if you will be running in parks and fields get a MT...the Revo is probably the best pick of the bunch for begginers....but just PICK one and get it.....lol.....you'll find they are more fun to drive than read about......BTW, Zandor is one of the most trusted guys here....just so you feel safer about him helping you out on the deal......

Spitman, I have nothing against you, I actually kinda like you so don't take this the wrong way. I know you want to be involved with the forum, and want to share the knowledge that you have. With that being said, your knowledge about rc is limited right now and you need to realize that. Like these two posts, yes the mbx 5 is a great buggy, but there are others that compare and compete with it. Like the kyosho mp-777 sp1/sp2, the X-Ray xb8, the hyper 7, The ttr-s3 and the list goes on. Yes you hear alot about mugen, and kyosho thats because they have been on top of the world for the past 10 years but there is now a much stiffer competition out there. So with this being said, do some more reading and learning. Once you get some more time under your belt start giving some advice, but for now sit back and relax. Its a long winter.

Just don't bring it into the US and I won't care. Actually as long as you register your own stuff with us before you leave Z you won't have any problems bringing it back into the US.
