Hey guys,

Been a llllooooonnnnnnggggg while since I've been around. I missed nitro so I spent some of my tax return and got me a NTC3 RTR I think the plus version. I remember how many members used to talk about how fast this car was out of the box so I got it. Plus I couldn't help it when Tower had the fourty dollar off coupon. Anyways feels good to be home, the main question here is what am I going to need to make this car to where I am not fixing the same part over and over again. I will also be searching mods. Thanks in advance.

Welcome back.
I'm not sure if the RTR comes with a full set of bearings. If not, I would start there. I hope you werent away so long that you forgot how to properly break in a mill. :D

WOW I was wondering about you. How long has it been? DO you have any cars or trucks still besides the New Addition? I just got the NTC3 and I am looking for parts and hop ups as well. I will be getting the "fix for both the F and R.and probabbly lighten her up with somecarbon fiber accessories.

Welcome home.

Ah well a lot has changed for me and no I sold frickin every ride I had. I did keep all of my tools chargers and basics so all I really need to go buy are some glo plugs and nitro. I even wound up moving to southern california. I'm so damn glad to be home. I think Eddie is right though about the bearings and as for breaking in the motor don't you on the first tank give it full throttle and start racin it for proper break in Eddie?? LOL

Yup never forgot anything!LOL Whereabouts do you live in SoCal? We may be neighbors!

I'm West of HELLAY about 30 minutes or so in Claremont. So back to original post is this car pretty strong out of the box or are there some common parts that go bad and such. I know I plan to tear it down and give it a good once over with shock oil and rx battery and sucy but honestly can't think of much else. Might try to find some good springs for it as well.

Version 2 is what you have, right? In that case, "The Fix" can only be applied in the front. Get the carbon kit. It'll still break if hit hard enough but it's more rigid than the plastic and will help with keeping suspension settings. Get the side carbon fiber brace and upperdeck. The side brace will help gaurd your tank as well from a hit to the pipe, causing it to break. When you can, get the Hardcore Titanium light weight chassis for racing or go with the 3racing 4mm chassis. I have had mine (3 racing) for over a season and have taken some hard crashes and still no tweaking.

Other than that, the car is good. BTW, that mill is "ok" at best. I would suggest changing it to at least tghe Sirio Evo2 3 port (sg shaft) for good performance. The sirio is the most "bang for the buck" engine. Novarossi, Top, Mega, Rex, etc, are all top choices in my book. My brother runs the RB V12 3port and I had a Novarossi NS12 in mine. Both great performers but now reside as backup engines for my S710.

There's really not much else that you can mess with to get her to perform better or be bullit proof. At the very least, get rid of the rubber tires and set her up for foams. You'll like the performance gains a lot better.

With foams do they get eaten up a whole lot faster?
Glad to see you back nitrofan.

The way I run my cars, I would go through 2 sets of rubber tires/day. That's with my car setup correctly on the HUDY board for rubber tires. Foams, for just running in the park, will last me all day. Racing, well to be competative, I use one set for qualifying (2-3 five minute races) and one set for the main (30 mins). Any longer than 30 mins would require a tire change and some resourcefulness to keep time spent in the pits minimal.

jeez. I plan on picking up a 1/5th scale on road just for park use. They no makey foams...

Theres an aluminum front bulkhead you can get that will save you from replacing the front diff housings after every hard crash. It bolts on in 7 places vs the 3 of the reg shock tower.
