I've had nothing but problems with Comcast. Paying for hi-speed cable, and getting the speed of dial-up.
I just got connected today with Bell South DSL, and it's amazing. Better than Comcast on it's best day.

Glad to hear you switched. Worse thing to do is have to pay for something that doesn't work the way it should. Did the monthly rate change between services?

The price dropped WAAAAAAAY down, plus free modem, and 1/2 price for 6 months and $150 in discounts off my unlimited phone and internet bill.
Great price, and, as hard to believe as it is, amazing speed compared to what I got with Comcast cable. Right now, I'm without TV, waiting for dish service.
I've only been on line for a bit over an hour since getting connected, but I'm totally satisfied.

Did you look into getting DSL through the dish service? Overall cost might be lower compared to buying separate satellite and separate DSL services.

Very good point. I know Verizon does deals with DirecTV. I got Optimum Online for cable and unfortunately, Verizon DSL can't touch the speed until they drop fiber here. Once that's in, I am dropping OOL because their customer service is THE worst, hands down.

I'll look into that, Kwong, but I already had unlimited long distance with Bell South, so the DSL deal was part of that.

I use comcast and like it... only had issues about 3 times over 4 years with either my tv cable or pc cable.

Their CS kind of stinks though. The call center routes you to canada, which was kind of cool. I was freaking out some poor candian women, doesn't seem that they get sarcasm all that well. She told me to unplug it, hold the reset button for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. When I plugged it back in, I yelled "Oh MY GOD, IT"S ON FIRE!!!!" She started freaking out, then I started laughing. Never got it working that day, but her and I chatted on the phone for about an hour. She said I was her favorite and most polite "angry" caller she had ever had.

Found out later that there was a cable outage in our area... it was repaired and up 4 hours later.

All northerners I've heard sound so cute and bubbly... did I just say cute?

Anyway, I have in-laws up near Fargo, and they all talk bubbly. Everytime the wife and I go there, we stay for a week or so and come home with a bit of the accent. I guess I'm more impressionable than I thought?

I went to school for a year in Minnesota. Everyone up there has a strange way of talking, and they use phrases no one else has ever heard.

Anyway, I posted a couple of threads here in the past, thinking there was a problem with this site, but it turns out it was all Comcast's fault.
I've been on here for a couple of hours tonight, and this is just GREAT. I should have done this 3 years ago.

i use comcast and i personally think its great. it is so fsat especially when like downloading songs or something, it could take me at the MOST maybe 20-25 minutes to download and burn a whole cd. i thikn thats pretty fast.

About 3 days with DSL now. This site runs faster than ever, and downloading video or audio clips is the same as what I got with Comcast cable. For 3 years I paid for a service they were unable to provide here.
I'm glad I'm done with them.

I'm happy with Comcast and I'm afraid of DSL. I had the DirectTV when it first came out and it wasn't worth poop. They installed Comcast on my street and I was glad to get it. That little satelite dish looks like a fag thing anyways............

No dish, just a modem on the phone line. High speed, 50X faster than dial-up, and it has filters that allow you normal use of the telephone even when you're on line.
I think the new system is better than 50X, but what I got is way better than the Comcast hi-speed cable I was wasting money on.
