So I cut out my windshield to get more airflow to the motor. What should I use to put in my windshield to screen the airflow?

Some people will shoo-goo some window screen on the inside

I use either regular screen from the hardware store or I use drywall mesh depending on the look I want to achieve. Either way though i use shoo goo to hold it in place.

Its cut pretty well. I rounded all my corners its gonna be my bashing body anyways.

Some SS screen from Ace Hardware.
Excuse the badly cut airflow hole, it was like that when I got the lid.

Sorry but cutting the front and side windows will last about 5 minutes as a bashing body. Next time just cut the front window.

Its only the front window sorry for the bad pic :D I just looked at the pic

Ahh then you should be ok ... maybe some goo and drywall tape around the edges to reinforce it a bit. As for a screen I have never used one and honestly I dont get that much crap on my rig other than just dust and a screen wont stop that anyway.

What is ss screen? I like the looks of that alot! I could probably powder coat it any color to. How do people cut the nice round holes out in the windshield?

i use a dremel tool to cut out mine, i trace a pattern on the lid in washable marker and just use a steady hand and stay with in the pattern !

duh:hehe: Sorry, havent got alot of sleep lately. And on the hole saws, i meen do u just use like a fine tooth metal hole saw or is there some special reamer for plastic?

I just use a standard hole saw but run it in reverse and use a wood backer.
When I raced, a screen really helped on freshly watered tracks to help keep the clay out.
We just used standard screen and superglue to attach it to the body.

Cool, that looks alot better than the open hole. Maybe that shoe goo everyones been talkin about would work good. Wonder if the glue would do anything to the paint on a custom lid? thanks!
