at sea level do you go richer on the hsn or leaner ? my 2.5 is set at factory

and motor is getting to hot all i can say is over 230 after that my gun just says HI. smells really hot and bogs and stalls 2.5

so the question is do you go leaner at sea level and richer at higher altitudes

or richer at sea leavel and leaner at high altitude?

You richen at sea level, and lean it out as you gain altitude. Reason being, there is more oxygen in the air at sea level, although that's an oversimplified explanation. You really should pick up a temp gun that will read higher, most nitro engines aren't even making peak power at 230*.

ya i know the temp should around 250- 270 . did not know the temp gun was that cheap it was my sons . thanks for the info i thought you richened it at sea leavel just unsure
