Are they all the same? Can any the of the PCR parts work on any one of the models? I am interested in some of the CF parts on the PCR pro for my PCR RTR.

Great, on edit, I screwed up the title and can't change it!

PCR RTR uses PBS suspension (instead of C-hub on Pro), and doesn't have the graphite goodies, aluminum chassis braces, CNC PCR shock towers, universals in center or rear, or Spider diff.

THe PCR kit and PCR Pro are one in the same. I don't think there was ever a PCR kit that wasn't Pro.

Most of the parts are interchangable between PCR RTR and PCR Pro, except that they use a different upper plate, and front chassis stiffener because of the different suspension designs. Make sure that if you are e-baying for upgrades that you get the appropriate upper plate and chassis stiffener for your suspension setup.

EDIT: Note on this page how the front top plate and front chassis stiffener have different numbers for different suspensions (see, I wasn't lying):

EDIT AGAIN: The front shock tower is listed as different too on that page, hmmm, I didn't know that.

That's a great little chart, NC. I hope it is accurate because it states teh PCR RTR and the PCR Pro both have spider diffs.

KX250, are saying the PCR RTR has dogbones instead of universals for the rear and center drive shafts? NC's matrix does show that but I can't seem to find a reference for it on the PCR parts list. I guess I will check the PCR RTR parts list for those specific items and see what is the different part numbers for the rears. Obviously I can't use the center ones, but those are less critical in my opinion.

Also, KX, when you say the Pro uses a different top plate, are you referring to the plate above the center diff?

It's accurate as far as my PCR Pro is concerned. I have both front suspensions pbs and c-hub, both center diffs, spider and standard, as well as the rest of the specs are correct for mine. I can't vouch for the PCR RTR however.

I remember looking at BOTH the RTR and PCR PRO and the RTR didn't have both. I am n ot sure on the later Production runs of them.

My PBS RTR came with the spider diff as well, so I would think the PCR versions definetly have it too.....
Yes the PRO did come with the Spider diff too.

jon2, what center diff did you think the RTR came with? Just asking.

If my memory serves me, it came with the Spider as well. Just from memory ...

the pcr rtr comes with standard/spider/standard. And any of the pro parts that I used fit with no problems. You just have to make sure they are pbs/pcr parts.

Ben, do you still have your PCR RTR? Did you try any of the PCR upgrades or Pro CF stuff?

I know there is another member here who's name is Ben, as I have seen it in you guy's posts previously. My name is Ben also, so I am not sure if Revo's last post was directed to me or not....???

Nevermind, I see that V's name is Ben as well.....well Hello everyone, I'm Ben. "2"

Revo, I don't have it anymore I sold it to Beason. I didn't use any of the PCR parts, I didn't see the need for them. I ran that thing hard and only broke a few things. One being the rear shock tower, well it wasn't broke molre like bent. The other was a front lower arm. Other then that...that was it. I tried the cf upper plate, and I actually prefered the stock one. I don't know why, but I did.

The only thing I didn't like was the engine mount, I would have prefered something that didn't have the adjustable (forward and back) because its more of a pain in the arse when it comes time to mounting the engine. One of the first times I took the engine out and put it back in it wasn't exactly square, I blew clutch bearings for a month before I could figure out what it was. IMO its just a bad design.

I had forgotten about the kit matrix, and just kept going back between the two OFNA pages for each of the cars, examining the bulletted points, and the pictures.

The reason I know the difference between the PBS and C-Hub top plate (which is the plate that sits right above the steering linkages, not the diff) and front chassis stiffener is because my buddy bought a Hyper 7 PCR PBS RTR, and set about converting it to Pro (c-hub) over time. When he went online to e-bay for the upgrades, he noticed the different part numbers for the C-hub and PBS parts.

That is also where we learned that dinball (or RC Mall, I think its called outside of e-bay) is a bad place to order from. They sent him the wrong parts (aluminum instead of carbon fiber, PBS instead of C-hub, despite what auction pictures and part numbers showed), on more than one occaision. We think they may have done it on purpose, since they know nobody is going to want to pay return shipping to send it back to whatever country they are in.
