Well I'm not to sure if this should go here but I can't find a battery forum. So my question is what exactly is a hump pack battery, does it go in the reciever are transmitter. Any info would help.

Head to the t maxx section or nitro talk and use the search feature . There is loads of info on hump packs that you will find usefull . 
Hump pack is usually referring to a 5 cell 2/3A NiMH 6V pack arranged in a 2x3 config to fit in a smaller space. They are usually for the receiver.
Flat packs either come with the cells end to end or all laying sideways or any other orientation that doesn't require stacking the cells.
