Huge problem with hyper 8

Ran 2 idle tanks. Then go outside to try to run it again, then the damn pullstart won't pull. I pulled that thing so hard it was rediculous. So I take the engine apart, and look at the sleeve and piston and the piston isn't as top dead center. It's halfway to the top. It won't go any higher. Any ideas?

Ah it's too late. I fixed it. It's somewhat of a hack job but i'm not a perfectionist. It's running now.

Dare we ask what exactly you did? If you say you put a sanding drum on your dremel and made the piston hole bigger, we're gonna have to smack ya.

Damn, i'm not dumb. You know the bolt kinda deal that hooks to the starter? that goes through the one-way bearing? I took a vice grip to it and manually turned the piston.

The sleeve on the Hyper is a really, really, really tight fit until the engine gets broken in properly. I would not be surprised if this happens again. All I can tell you is to make sure you are getting the engine up to a good "hot" operating temperature during the break in to allow all internals to expand and seat accordingly.

The break in procedure is a pain, but it's best to put the piston to bottom dead center each time you finish running through the break in tank for it to cool properly- seems you left it where it last was and the sleeve squeezed into the piston. Best way to try and fix this if it happens again is to heat up the engine with a heat gun or blow dryer.

Thought about heating it up but i'm not very patient and I figured it wouldn't get hot enough to let the metal expand enough.
