I just finished re assembling my savage last night and this morning after charging my hump pack i tried my remote. It would not move the IMEX Claw dawgs tires sitting still. But when i lifted my savage to its stand and the tires off the ground it moved just fine.I'm not quite sure it if has to be that way coz i heard that somebody here has got the same servo but big joes tires tho and he was able to steer his savage no problem sitting still.:mex:

I think it has alot to do with the servo saver. I have a Airtronics 140oz for the steering and it doesn't move the tires that much sitting still.

Thats it.you're right.I looked underneath while turning it sitting still and i can see the middle of the servo saver moving about 30 deg but the arm itself about 5 degrees. Thanks Twiz.Hope i get my .26 tomorrow so i can take pics of my savage.Maybe you can help me post those pics.:smart: :write:

I didn't realize the Maxx had a built in servo saver on the horn until I went to replace it with a 645MG. I'm kinda glad I bought the Proline steering kit at the same time.

While sitting still, the servo moves the saver slip joint at least as much as it moves the wheels. Other factors involved in turning the wheels are the tension adjustments on the saver slip joint and the length of the servo horn. I left the servo arm length the same as stock (5/8") to provide the same throw distance to the drag link. The 645MG is 132 in/oz torque. At 5/8" from the servo shaft to the drag link the force applied should be about 211 ounces.

I know this a bunch of technical garbage but I had to throw it out there.
