How come everyone is sold out on this truggy. I can't get it anywhere. Is it that good for the price? I am looking for a truggy and can't decide. More of a basher then racing. Any ideas?

STAY AWAY FROM HPI RIG'S DONT GET ONE.... I USED TO LIKE HPI RIG'S UNTIL...... I GOT 1 OF THERE NITRO HPI BULLET'S mt 4X4'S LAST YEAR WHEN THEY 1ST CAME OUT... & I HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT EVEN HAD SENT IT OUT TO HPI FOR WARRENTY WORK STILL DIDENT FIX THE PROBLEM THE FRONT DRIVESHAFS KEPT JAMMING & TEARING UP THE HUB'S I REPLACED 2 SETS OF FRONT HUBS WITHIN A 2 WEEK PERIOUD & THEN COULD NOT FIND THE PARTS IN STOCK ANY WHERE... MY HS / ONLINE... SO I GOT SO UPSET ONE DAY I STRIPED THE RIG COMPLETELY DOWN & SOLD PARTS OFF IT... MADE A FEW BUCKS OFF THE TIRES & SHOCKS & EVEN SOLD THE 2.4 gig RADIO SYSTEM OUTTA THE RIG " MY 1 FRIEND CONVERTED A traxxas rig OVER FROM AN OLDER am CHYRSTAL SYSTEM... I ONLY KEPT THE RIG'S NITRO ENGINE A NITRO STAR 3.0... & THREW THE REST OF THE RIG IN THE GARBAGE I WILL NEVER BUY AN HPI PRODUCT AGAIN ON EXCPTION OF TIRES & BODIES...... I AM 100% TRAXXAS & A PROUD OWNER OF 3 TRAXXAS RIG'S NOW......

Are you hell bent on a getting a truggy? What about a HPI Savage lots of aftermarket parts for it and one of the strongest monster trucks out there. HPI is a great brand with great customer service, I would pay no attention to what's been posted above in all capital letters.

100% agreed with wacmartin, 1 person having a bad experience doesn't mean its a bad brand, HPI is one of the leading Companies in the RC world, i have owned both and if i were to pick, it would be HPI.

agreed too. HPI is a goodbrand most especially their savage family and Baja's. Here in
our local track some guys run with HPI buggies and truggies and they don't have any problem with it. I had a savage X too and I love it.

Ok I gotta ask, cause I haven't boughten anything new in a while, except parts!. What happened to the hellfire?, is the trophy truggy the same thing. I was on the hpi web page and didn't see the hellfire on the nitro off-road line up....I still have pieces of mine, is it a lost cause to fix it?

It may be a discontinued model but I'm sure you can still find parts for it on ebay. I've had a trophy 3.5 buggy for over a year now. I have beat the hell out of it and only broken a few minor parts. When i first got it and broke it in the engine lost compression and hpi replaced it with the bigger F4.6. I currently have it up on ebay for sale as a roller because i robbed the servos, hump pack, RX/TX, on/off switch off it to use on my truggy kit build. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Buggy and would happily buy HPI again. The reasoning for the truggy being out of stock may have something to do with HPI being bought out by Hobbico. At least i think thats who bought them out. Then again it may be because its such a good product for the cost and the demand is heavy. I'm sure if you search the web enough you can find one in stock somewhere. Try horizon hobby or maybe even great planes hobby.

I have a new trophy truggy rtr powered by a clocked nova .28 and have no problems at all. Ran the stock 4.6 for 6 monthes daily and only replaced servos. ???

Wacmartin : I am not the only one to have troubles & issues with the HPI Bullet.. A friend of mine bought a Bullet MT Flux electric Rig "cause he liked mine so much" a week after I got my nitro Rig... & he too had problems #1. He had a hard programming the ESC to radio then he could not adjust the ESC & Radio not to go FULL 100% break "he could not lessen the break force no matter what he tried" when he let go of trigger. & #2 he as well had problems with his front Drive shafts jamming & tearing up the hub's the same exact thing that was happing to my RIG. & he could not find parts for the RIG... His RIG was sent out to HPI for repair just like mine & HPI said the Drive Shafts are fine when they test drove it on there track & said the ESC was a bad batch & just put in fresh new one... But when he got the Rig back the Drive Shafts where still jamming & tearing up the hub's / My truck was too on a constant basis... Even my HS sent the remaining 2 Nitro Rig's & 3 Electric Rig's BACK to there warehouse because the MGR was concerned with the problems we where having & our HS shop said the parts not just the Drive Shafts but parts in General for the Rig where hard to get a hold of...
I am VERY VERY upset with HPI now I feel they RUSHED a RIG onto the R/C Market & did not do a lot of R & D on there end.. I feel the Bullet was just slapped together & not much thought went into the design or how reliable it would hole up in off road conditions... HPI does have a very awesome RIG out now there SAVAGE "I'll Give HPI 2 Thumb's for that RIG"... But from the problems I've experienced from the Bullet & Feel I lost $320.00 "what I paid @ HS for Rig" down the Tube's & another $28.00 bucks for shipping my Rig out to HPI for Repair & still had the Problems when I got the Rig back... I will not buy another HPI Product on exception of Bodies & Tires... & I'll STICK WITH TRAXXAS & BUYING TRAXXAS RIGS " My MONEY IS GOOD ANYWHERE "

HPI may have good customer service & an awesome RIG there SAVAGE... But there Bullet RIG SUCKS... & my Hobby Shop returned 3 Nitro Bullets & 2 Electric Bullets back to there supply warehouse for credit.. The Hobby Shop MGR said he could not sell the Bullets & had a hard time locking part's down for the RIG not just the Drive Shafts but Parts in General for the Bullet... That alone gotta tell you something if a Hobby Shop send's back complete RTR's to a warehouse because they can't sell. & the MGR said to me with the problems my Friend & I where going through he's glad he sent the bullets back.. THE SAVAGE RIG the Hobby Shop has a hard time KEEPING IN STOCK because it's popular "& I understand that" But I lost all interest in HPI RIGs Just because of the problems I had with my RIG & it was sent in for Repair & when I got the RIG back from HPI I still had problems with the Drive Shafts... I Am sticking with TRAXXAS I am a proud owner of 3 TRAXXAS owned RIGS & My Money is good anywhere & have NO PROBLEM giving TRAXXAS my MONEY... I am simply saying beware of HPI products I would not want some one else going through the same problems I did.....

The Bullet was released in Europe before the US, they have a solid following here. I also sold a few at the HS I worked at (in the US) and had no issues, other than parts being hard to get in stock, we never needed them though (just wanted some on the shelf).
