Hello,

I have had my Trophy 3.5 for a couple of weeks now and it's started playing up (throttle is sticking and it is chucking out lots of blue smoke even though i've got it at it's optimum HSN and LSN settings).

So, first off i would like help on what the throttle problem is. I was out earlier with the car and i primed and started the engine and all seemed fine, that was until i gunned the throttle. It hurtled accross the field and nearly went in the river on the opposite side. Here's the thing, i had my finger pushing the brake the whole time and it would not stop! I genuinely thought that it was going in the drink! :whhooo:

Secondly, i would like to ask what the blue smoke is all about. I mean it is running richer on the LSN than it is on the HSN (doubt that has anything to do with it). I don't/can't get a new engine because i really can't afford it!

Thanks in advance,

Dan :)

Change out your servo. Mine only lasted 4 tanks on the trophy buggy and the steering went out on the 5th tank. Stock servos suck!

Oh and blue smoke is a good thing. As long as shes smoking you know its getting plenty of lubrication.

Thanks,
I will get on to that soon. What type of servo would you recommend?

for cheap onces i would go with prob a hitec they are about 30 bucks for a 645mg on amazon. for a really good servo i would go savox but they are like 70 bucks but the thing with that is buy a couple and then when they screw up you can get a rebuild kit for 15.

I went with futaba S3305mg on throttle and steering on my trophy buggy and havnt had a problem since. They are $32.99 each from tower hobbies. Also i recommend savox SC0252mg. Its 145oz in of torque at 6v which is plenty for any 1/8 scale buggy and its $37.99 each at amainhobbies.com
I found it on ebay for $27 when i bought this one for the steering on my tmaxx.
